Delicious food - Edit
The food is EXCELLENT, and so is the vibe! I came in for the pancakes, but they were out of the batter, so I opted for the breakfast muffin with bacon - a truly great choice. Probably the most delicious breakfast muffin I've ever had. Pleasant atmosphere, and some tables even have sockets, so you can work there.
Read moreOn a less positive note: the kitchen closed mid-morning quite unexpectedly. So be prepared that hot food may not be available. Also, homeless people kept coming in and begging for money, while the staff were trying to get them out... This city does have a major homelessness issue indeed.
Pros: Amazing food, Long opening hours
Cons: Some items may be out of stock, Kitchen may be closed

Cafe Kino, Bristol! 🏳️⚧️🌱🏳️🌈
Read moreWell I wouldn't be THE Queer Vegan if I didn't take a trip to a queer vegan cafe, would I?
This place has a VIBE! Rustic seating, cute furry friends, gig venue toilet, an arts space downstairs and full of queers? Made me feel right at home. 😊
I had a chikun Reuben toastie with rosemary salted chips and my friend had a garlic chikun burger. We enjoyed some cakes and the tea was excellent too.
Cost wise I would say it was better value than I expected because Bristol is a lot more expensive than Wales. For reference, the toastie was £8 but it was as big as my head and very filling.
I'm really glad I finally got to experience Cafe Kino and I wish we had something similar in Cardiff. Maybe one day?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Pros: The vibe, The food, The other customers
Cons: Not a lot of parking nearby, Flat access but gig venue downstairs

Worryingly dirty - Edit
I don’t like to leave negative reviews for vegan places, I just didn’t feel good about my food, the whole place is worryingly dirty. It’s great that they are a positive community space but food hygiene is vital. There was also an addict slumped scratching in a booth. Won’t go back until it’s had a good deep clean.

Amazing vegan brunch - Edit
Great options both sweet and savoury! We had the smashed carrot on sourdough toast (really delicious and lots of flavour), berry compote pancakes (soft and thick with plenty of toppings for all three pancakes) and middle eastern breakfast (lots of delicious elements, great crispy potatoes, thick buttery sourdough, garlicky kale and nice spices!). We also enjoyed a soya cappuccino and soya chai latte (silky and sweet).

The prices are reasonable. Nice staff and great vibe. I sat here for a few hours studying and reading and no one minded. They have loads of events going on. Seems like a good community space. I think all food is vegan

Fully vegan from what I could see! - Edit
Cafe Kino is a great community space and independent business that has the aim to source locally wherever possible. The menu also looked to be fully vegan rather than veggie from what I could see. It's a little expensive, but considering their ethics, I decided it was worth spending a bit more.
Read morePros: Amazing American pancakes, Good principles/independent business
Cons: A little expensive, esp. for the breakfast muffin, Hot chocolate was more warm than hot

I was blown away when I walked in for the first time. Very LGBTQ friendly. All are welcome here except genocidal fascists, basically. Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Place is a worker owned co op. A model for how a cafe could and should be.

Lovely cafe - Edit
Delicious food in a social justice-centered environment. They have a pay-it-forward program where folks can buy a coffee ahead of time for someone who may need one. The English breakfast and kombucha were wonderful!

Closed :( - Edit
Went there thinking they would be open (according to Google maps…), they were not. They were closed but the strange thing is that there were people there working. It seems they are having financial issues and so they are doing some sort of crowdfunding, but not sure they are actually going to be reopening…

An extremely satisfying breakfast - Edit
Nice chilled out space with a good affordable menu and welcoming staff.
Read moreWe visited for breakfast, ordering the toasted breakfast sandwich, bacon breakfast muffin and toast, with scrambled tofu and beans toppings.
All the breakfasts were hearty and filling, with the scrambled tofu very nice indeed. Decent coffee too.
Cake Kino also has an option to pay it forward, of which we opted in to. This was used just moments later and was definitely the most satisfying part of our breakfast visit.
Pros: Tasty food , Pay it forward , Staff
