Good range vegan options

Friendly service, nice interior. The nachos with guacamole and salsa were a great starter. The burrito was very hard to eat as the ends weren't folded in, so had to use a knife and fork. It was a little dry with no avocado, vegan cheese or sour cream, but loved that I could add seitan.

Good food, but is it vegan?

The vegetarian options and what could be made vegan are clearly marked. However, we didn't see that at first and asked if the pad thai listed in the VEGETARIAN section could be made vegan. We explained what vegan means. "Yes, but then it'll lack taste because the fish sauce is giving it its taste." We got some curry and enchiladas at the end (last one not listed on the menu) and the staff was really friendly. However, the fish thing made us unsure about their knowledge abour vegan/vegetarian food. Food itself was good.

Pros: Good food, Friendly staff

Cons: Clearly marked options - but not correct, Missing knowledge about vegan/vegetarian food?

Well marked menu and lots of options

The menu was noted which dishes could be made vegan, which I find is rare in Ecuador.

The staff knew exactly what vegan meant and the service was great. Had the 7 usd burrito and it was a good size and delicious

Cafe Hood

First dinner in Ecuador, it was nice to find a place to eat with vegan options. Their menu contains purple and green stars, purple indicating can be made vegan, however that was untrue for most dishes. Was slightly awkward when inquiring, it was average but we were grateful.

Pros: Vegan options , Espresso

Cons: Confusing menu, Lack of knowledge

Excellent!

This is one of my favorite place to go in Baños. There is an spectacular Enchilada wich is normally vegetarian but you can order the vegan one, is amazing! There are also other delicious options such as Pad Thai, tacos and burritos, not to mention that the place is nice and cozy.
Highly recommended. 👌👌

Pros: Good prices, good vibes and good service.

Able to accommodate vegans!

I ordered the Buddha bowl and they were accommodate it to be vegan! It doesn't explicitly say that they can do that on the menu, but the waitress offered to make it vegan for me. Absolutely delicious! Highly recommend. Just wish there were more vegan options and clearly marked on the menu.

Best vegan food in town!

We ordered the soup of the day which was a very big portion and super tasty, well worth the 2.50$. Also the vegan tacos and enchiladas were amazing as well! Location was wrong but hope it's fixed now it should be close to the Termas de las Virgen.

Tons of vegan options!

Large menu with heaps of vegan options all clearly labelled. I ordered the Pad Thai, pesto pasta and enchiladas (got a couple to takeaway) all of which were very flavourful and delicious! Highly recommend this place to all my non vegan friends loved it too!

Pros: Lot of vegan options (labelled too), English speaking , Nice atmosphere

Good food

I liked this place a lot. The portions were great for the price of food! We ordered the pad Thai and an Ecuadorean dish and both were tasty! The service was very friendly.
I don't think it's 100% vegetarian though, but they have an excellent selection of veggie options.

Lots of Dairy and eggs

There aren't any vegan options on the menu except for one salad. Some items you an specify to have no cheese. I ordered chips, beans, and guacomole and it was really tasty. Great place for vegetarians but not so great for vegans.

Pros: Good Atmosphere, Nice staff

Cons: A little far from the center of town, No true vegan options

ordinary

Cool place with great vibes. I ordered a vegetarian burrito and the second time some kind of rice plate. the food is ordinary but I respect the diversity in vegetarian food - mexican, asian and so on.

Just okey

Went here for dinner and had a burrito. It was okey but nothing to memorable to be honest. The service was a bit lacking, had to wait for our menus for a long time even though the restaurant was quiet.
All in all it felt really plain. I wouldn't recommend you to go there but wouldn't say don't go there either. Just.... plain.

And as previous reviews said, its not 100% vegetarian even though they have a decent sized vegetarian part of the menu.

Cafe Hood, Banos

The first thing is that this is defo a separate entity to Casa Hood. I was told anecdotally when in Banos that these 2 establishments are run separately the former Mr & Mrs Hood.

Next thing is that when I was in Banos (Jan 2013), Café Hood most definitely wasn't 100% vego. Further, of the Casa and Café Hood, Casa Hood to me seemed to be more geared up to veganism of the 2. I still managed to get something in Café Hood that was pleasant enough.

Pros: Some vegan possibilities, Central

Cons: Not 100% vego
