Serves meat, vegan options available. Vietnamese restaurant and cafe offering a few labelled vegan items such as curry, spring rolls, summer rolls and more. Open Wed-Sat 12:00-15:30, 17:30-21:00.
I would rate this place 5 if I could. I couldn't recommend this place enough. my favourite little local family owned restaurant with the most welcoming friendly vibe, I go with my family every time I come back to London and I basically have the vegan options memorised. I believe all but one of the starters have a vegan option and I believe almost all of the mains have a vegan option (I remember asking if the tofu pho was veggie in the past and I think they said yes but might need to check again) The woman who served us last time we were there was vegetarian so she was really helpful.
BOYB with corkage fee but my mum would tell me to recommend the lemon and ginger tea which they make fresh, and I would recommend the lemon iced tea which they make themselves and you can tell (IT'S DELICIOUS)
MUST HAVES:
Bánh Bèo - savoury steamed rice cakes, I have never seen this in a Vietnamese restaurant before but I dream about them. Little flower shaped soft steamed rice cakes topped with roast peanuts, crispy shallots, tofu and other toppings that you scoop into your spoon and pour the amazing dipping sauce over (I genuinely drink the leftover sauce every time) and it's the most beautiful blending of different flavours and textures
Nộm Xoài Xanh - Green mango salad with tofu, "shredded green mango topped with roasted peanuts, sesame seeds, crispy shallots and mixed fresh herbs." just incredible, I was so full and couldn't stop eating it and my mum almost ordered 2 more to take home after we finished our meal!! wonderful crisp veg salad with slices of lovely soft fried tofu and a delicious blend of sweet, slight heat, and freshness (my mum likes to ask for it as a main)
Tofu Bún- "noodles salad" my main I get every time, my favourite Vietnamese dish, and my favourite place to eat it, warm rice noodles, shredded cucumber, pickled carrots and daikon (LOVE), the same delicious tofu as in the mango salad in ABUNDANCE that soaks up the sauce so well, and they don't mention but you get a large veggie spring roll with it aswell!!
