Almost all the food is vegan, with the exception of a few drinks that contain honey and pollen (ask which ones). Part of the the Cafe Gratitude brand originating from San Francisco - its second Los Angeles location. Menu features both raw food as well as cooked meals, vegan desserts and raw pies. Trendy, beach vibe and busy at mealtime. Also offers breakfast until 1pm which includes pancakes, waffles, and french toast. Open Mon-Sun 9:00am-9:00pm.

Most pleasant dining experience I’ve had - Edit
The food came out quick, the staff was very friendly, and it was some of the best vegan food I’ve had (especially the pizza). The affirmation named menu items are also cute😉

Really wholesome food and wonderful servers! - Edit
The meals were really wholesome and extremely filling. Drinks were nice and the tahini cookies sent to me. Went with my very non-vegan father who had stars in his eyes at the end. We felt really taken care of by the staff and could chat easily as it wasn’t very noisy either highly recommend.

Solidly okay - Edit
Not the best restaurant I’ve been to, but not the worst. A little pricey, but it was nice that most everything was vegan. (Be careful to remove honey from some items) The menu itself was fairly uninspired. I won’t go out of my way to come here again, but overall it was a decent experience.

Delicious Flavors! - Edit
The Mushroom Waffle had a nice crispiness to it, but the lion’s mane mushroom could have used a few more minutes on the heat. It still had a bit of that raw mushroom aroma, which suggested it wasn’t fully cooked through. Not a dealbreaker, but a small tweak would have made a big difference.
Read moreThe Omelette was excellent—light, flavorful, and well-executed. The pesto added just the right balance, complementing the dish rather than overpowering it. The potatoes, on the other hand, were a bit too oily. A lighter touch with the oil would have made them more enjoyable without sacrificing flavor.
As for the Coffee, it leaned slightly bitter but was still rich and satisfying.
Overall, a solid experience and I’d definitely return.
Pros: Crispy and flavorful mushroom waffle, Well-balanced omelette with delicious pesto
Cons: Lion’s mane mushroom could have cooked longer, Potatoes were overly oily

Pretty good! - Edit
A bit pricey for what it is, but the food is quite good! Wouldn’t go here all the time, but I’m glad this is here. Also I wish they would take honey off their menu so that this place could be fully vegan >_

Left me with an embarrassing feeling - Edit
I had a very unpleasant experience at this place. The food was okay, nothing to rave about really.
Read moreBut when I paid, I gave the waiter a large bill since that was the only cash I had on me. He came back with what I naturally thought were my change. I left the place, and as I was walking away, I thought I heard someone behind me say, "Was that it?"
I thought maybe they didn't think I'd left enough tip for them. I was stopped as I was about to cross the street, the worker told me I had left without paying. I pointed in the window and said, "I just paid that guy over there." It turned out that the man gave me all my money back split it into smaller bills, without saying a word to me about it? (probably because of their stupid tipping culture 🙄). WHO DOES THAT and also doesn't say anything?! Since I didn’t order that much, I didn’t even realize I had been given all my money back.
I was kinda left with a feeling of being accused of stealing. It was an really embarrassing experience for me to be shouted back to the restaurant and have people looking weird at me, which could have been avoided in the first place -if the man had either informed me of his little stunt or just returned my change as normal! So I could leave those cash as a tip.

What can I say, just amazing - Edit
Even my Omni foodie siblings loved everything. It’s incredible. The crunch wrap supreme was a big, big hit. Also loved the soba noodle salad and the Hawaiian pizza, and the I am cleansed salad. sorry I don’t have pictures, we dove right in and it was all gone before we knew it. My only regret is not getting back there before we had to leave Santa Monica! Hope to get back here one day soon😄

Yummy vegan lunch - Edit
I am Whole This is my second visit to a Cafe Gratitude in LA, first was in Larchmont so was wanting to experience Venice Beach. Lovely space, friendly staff and a huge menu that would bring you back week after week. I had a Matcha Tahini Latte and I am whole, macrobiotic bowl. So so good.

Lovely brunch - Edit
Maybe my favorite restaurant in the whole wide world. Some of my happiest memories, including a graduation meal and an anniversary. Forgive yourself not being able to try everything on the menu and embrace the moment. Everything here is great and one day you may return. On this occasion I enjoyed the generous portion of pancakes, the hot chocolate, and a gut-healing smoothie.

My favorite vegan joint - Edit
Yup, 15 years after the first time I ate here, still my favorite. Now I've moved away but own their book so I can try to replicate my favorite dishes.
Read moreThe last time here I brought my daughter with me. She hadn't been to Gratitude since she was a baby, and she loved every minute of it, from the question of the day all the way down to dessert.
Only thing though... what ever happened to the size of the cakes? It's like a third of what it used to be!
Pros: Best vegan food. Period. , Ambiance.
Cons: It's getting really steep , Cake sizes are shrinking

Lovely venue but $$$ - Edit
A beautifully presented restaurant with very attentive servers. Food is all based around affirmations. Burger was great but I found some of the oyster mushrooms a little stringy. Coconut salad was very fresh and nourishing after walking around Venice for the day. We had a beer and an alcoholic kombucha. Prices are up there but that seems to just be LA.

Grateful for Cafe Gratitude - Edit
Question of the day today: What Gives You Hope? That was the question posed to me by my server as I placed my order. It is the practice at Cafe Gratitude to pose such a question to each of their patrons to reflect on while they wait for their meal to be served.
Read moreThere is a health-focused menu for body, mind, and soul (each menu item titled with a positive "I Am" affirmation) and no such thing as mock meats here; but rather macrobiotic, and raw options, as well as house made milks, and options that include medicinal plants, spices, etc. We need more venues such as this!
Pros: No mock meats; truly whole food, Truly holistic - nourishing mind, body and soul, Indoor/outdoor seating
