Terrible Service, Terrible Coffee

We were really excited to try this restaurant. It was a little difficult to find. We came on a Sunday around noon.

We drove through the main entrance to the recreation area. We were advised to turn left, then go behind some buildings until we came to a parking lot.

The parking lot was free and had two hour parking. There was a good amount of parking spots when we arrived but few when we left.

From here the restaurant is a 7min walk. The restaurant is part of a hostel.

Walk towards the recreation area from the parking lot. You will come to a large green space. From there the restaurant is diagonal to the right behind a cluster of trees. You could cut across the green space or follow the path on your left. The path curves around the green space. When it Ts turn right. There is a bit of an incline. You will walk straight from there until you reach almost the end. Then turn right. At this intersection is a small sign with an arrow pointing to the Cafe. The Cafe is visible from this intersection and is in a two story white building. There are steps leading up to the restaurant on this side. We aren't sure if there is anything more accessible on the other side.

The staff member was not attentive, we had to wait quite a while before being greeted bc he was talking with other staff members. Then he was quite short with us.

We asked the staff if the croissant was vegan, the gentleman said it was vegan but we would ask more pointed questions next time. We ordered two coffees and two veggie breakfast sandwiches.

*I felt sick after eating the sandwich, I don't think the croissant is vegan. They have other bread options. Make sure to ask.

He brought out the iced coffee right away then continued talking.

The two breakfast sandwiches which are supposed to be only avocado, tomato and onion on a croissant took quite a long time to be brought to us. Then they didn't even have the onion! It's literally a 3 ingredient sandwich and they missed an ingredient.

We then had to ask the staff member to make our other coffee which he forgot about. This is a place where you order and pay, eat and bus your own table so the staff have very few responsibilities.

The coffee was probably the worst coffee we've ever paid for. The croissant breakfast sandwiches were nothing special.

The tables were dirty and not wiped down, we aren't confident the dishes are adequately cleaned. The staff had an attitude, were slow and incompetent.

The food is cheap and there is a small view but it definitely wasn't relaxing and we had an awful experience.

I wouldn't make a trip here but if you are in the area give it a try, hopefully this was an off day.

Pros: Nice windows

Cons: Dirty, Bread might not actually be vegan , Poor customer service

cheap and good

Its been a while since ive been here but when I came in 2017 I liked it a lot. the place is located inside the fort mason hostel. Its a white builidng with a sign in front that says (HI fishermans warf) or (hostelers international). The cafe is on the left when you enter.

The food is incredibly cheap compared to most places in SF and pretty good too. The tabels and space are beautiful and there are spectacular views from the windows

Pros: cheap, many vegan/vegetarian options, beautiful facility and views

Cons: soy/almond milk is extra
