Cooking with mineral water

Food was good, we just arrived in India and wanted to slowly get used to the Indian bacteria. So cooking with mineral water was nice for our bellies

Pros: Mineral water, Ac, Good English

Nothing special

Fairly standard - not much to say really. The restaurant was empty, my food came quickly, it was OK, I didn't get sick.

Reasonably priced, relaxing cafe

We ate here before our train, it was a nice environment and good service.

Pros: Lots of coffee drinks, Indian food as well as western options, WiFi and toilet access

Reasonable price for a tasty meal with an awful service

We went to Cafe Festa a few times during our stay in Delhi. The price is reasonable and the menu offers a lot of vegetarian meals. However, vegan meals were not clearly labelled and the staff didn't seem to understand our question regarding a dairy free meal. They always confirmed there was no milk, neither ghi, but we weren't 100% sure about that, considering they didn't speak much English. Nevertheless, the food was very tasty. The place itself looked alright, the western toilet wasn't too clean, but it was manageable. However, the service was awful. Slow, impolite, noisy and not very attentive waiter on the morning shift, and a slow and sleazy waiter on the evening shift, who kept the change without asking. Each visit we had to wait for our meals for 45 minutes on average, even with an empty restaurant. They also refused to give us Wi-Fi password.

Pros: Tasty meals, Reasonable price for Delhi, Relatively clean

Cons: Terrible service, Vegan items not labelled, staff has no clue, Long waiting time

Not bad for Pahar Gang

This place is OK and a couple members of the staff speak English. They seemed to understand our vegan requests and said that they could prepare our food with oil instead of ghee. The steamed rice here had beautiful grains a mile long, the roti and plain naan are nice. The yellow dal was purported as the vegan one, pretty tasty. My favorite is the Gobhi Aloo. I've tried to order the Gobhi Masala but keep receiving the Gobhi Aloo. There are only a few of items on the menu suitable for vegans but I take comfort in eating in a restaurant that is at least free from meat. The food is amazingly delicious if you've just come from Nepal. Although they have one of the only italian espresso machines I've seen in this neighborhood, the coffee is not worthwhile. This place seems pretty clean and it's a non smoking restaurant which makes it the classiest veg place in the tourist ghetto and more vegan friendly than the spots at Connaught Place. Its right across the street from the popular hotel Cottage Yes Please.

Pros: Clean, Non-smoking, Vegetarian
