Too much rice - Edit
Ordered the chipotle wrap which they said was their top selling item but it was literally just full of rice and lacking flavour. The cilantro rice bowl could have used more veggies. Fairly disappointing.

Nothing bad to say. Sit outside (dog friendly) or in. Veganize all options. Wraps, rice plates, nachos, quesadillas, quinoa plates. Wicked good ginger limeade. Iced coffee. Smoothies.

It's close to Muir Woods - Edit
I was disappointed by this place. I ordered the chipotle wrap another reviewer mentioned and while the flavors were good the filling of the wrap was 85% rice, as shown in the cross section of the photo attached, and other reviewers photos as well (thus their method and not a singular instance of a poorly prepared wrap). The other, sparsely applied ingredients including the un prepared tofu seemed like an afterthought. And the tofu was an add in, leading me to wonder what the percentage of rice would have been without it. I would not go again unless it was the only option.

veg friendly menu in Mill Valley - Edit
I recently went to Mill Valley to see Jai Uttal w/ a friend. Before the show we went to fuel up on some plant based goodness. I looked for some vegan or vegetarian places & found Cafe del Soul. I actually thought they were 100 percent vegetarian yet found out the menu is by default vegetarian & you have the option to add hormone-free, free-range chicken for $3.25 or add organic tofu for $1.00.
Read moreThe quesadillas unfortunately are all made w/ dairy cheese & would be awesome if they added some vegan cheese to the menu so us vegans could enjoy the quesadillas.
I decided to go w/ the Quinoa Cool for $13.50 & it was a plate w/ quinoa, spinach, black beans, tomatoes, tossed in their house-made lime & olive oil vinaigrette & topped w/ avocado. It was good & I have a hearty appetite so afterwards I decided to get a wrap. I went w/ the Sun Salutation Wrap for $6.35. This wrap came w/ red leaf lettuce, tomato, avocado, onion, cheddar cheese tossed in their house-made citrus cumin vinaigrette served in a whole wheat tortilla. I made it vegan by getting it w/o cheese & also decided to add some organic tofu for $1. The wrap was tasty & like a salad in a wrap. The wrap satisfied my appetite.
My friend got a Berry Beautiful smoothie for $7 that was made w/ blueberry, bb nectar, banana, almond milk, almonds, & dates. She also got a rice dish called Curry Soul Good for $10.80. This came w/ brown rice, cranberries, spinach, almonds, tossed in their house-made mustard-curry dressing. She enjoyed it!
All in all a nice spot to check out in Mill Valley especially if you are vegan, vegetarian, or lean toward plant based. I look forward to returning the next time I'm in Mill Valley.

We have been here a few times. I always get the chipotle wrap vegan. But they have a bunch more items too. The raw chocolate coconut macaroons are really good😃

Tasty quinoa bowl and wrap - Edit
I thoroughly enjoyed the chipotle quinoa bowl (prepared vegan, with the vegan sauce and no cheese) — very fresh with lots of chopped spinach giving good texture. The spicy flavor was delicious — like a Spanish rice, but with fluffy quinoa, and some savory beans and avo. I will definitely be back to get this dish again. My mom had one of the wraps, and she loved it. Nice casual place for a nourishing and tasty meal.

Plenty of options, needs extra dressing - Edit
Everything on the menu can be made vegan by adding tofu and removing dairy ingredients, but does need extra dressing/hot sauce for a bit of flavour as tofu is unseasoned.

My favorite - Edit
This place was near my office for 16 years and I couldn't have done without it. My favorite was the Nachos de Maria (vegan nachos!) until they created the quinoa wrap. So good.

Bland food and rude staff - Edit
This place is way overpriced and nothing has any taste. I was given a styrofoam container filled with rice, plain tofu, and avocado which was somehow advertised as a salad? When I asked for some greens, and even offered to pay extra, they were so rude. The manager is a complete jerk and has no concept of customer service. I will not be returning and I don’t suggest anyone else waste their money here. It was a complete ripoff.

Okay Vegan, Good Vegetarian Food - Edit
If you’re looking for a quick vegetarian bite to eat, this works! However, vegan options are more limited. I got the Quinoa Cool bowl, which was pretty bland without extra dressing. My daughter got the Chipotle Sungoddess Rice bowl, which was very (almost too) cheesy and flavorful, but lacked substantial veggie power. The menu didn’t have a lot of variety between wraps and bowls, and the quality of ingredients wasn’t amazing. But if you’re a vegetarian and need something quick, you’ll be satisfied with this meal.

Cafe in a strip mall with many wraps, salads, bowls, etc. Some choices don’t have cheese, and you can add tofu to anything. Would recommend for a quick lunch!

Like they read my mind - Edit
Note: My husband and I are vegan.
Read moreWhat a pleasure to see so many menu choices that I'll 1) feel good about eating and 2) actually want to eat! BOTH soups were vegan; I actually had a choice! We enjoyed the coconut lentil soup w/a light curry flavor, though next time I may ask to add fresh spinach or greens for interest. The Quinoa Cool plate was absolutely delicious, with a bright fresh taste and lots of goodies that kept it interesting. We two were so full from our individual bowls of soup that we couldn't finish our shared plate of quinoa. Lucky me, I got to have it for lunch the next day! Loved the knowledgeable staff, too.

great food but have caution - Edit
be careful guys whether you're vegan or vegetarian make it clear what you cannot eat. I'm very careful as a vegan. I will clarify everywhere with them my being vegan means I do not consume meat, dairy, eggs, fish, etc. my friend is vegetarian and has always gotten the nacho demaria with Chipotle sauce. I always get a vegan Chipotle sunrise wrap no cheese or eggs or meat. I clarify my veganism but he didn't clarify vegetarian as he doesn't eat eggs. I've always pestered him about eating the nachos because diary is unhealthy and cruel. he's always fought me it's fine and recently discovered the Chipotle sauce has eggs unless requesting the vegan Chipotle sauce. so he's eaten eggs here many times unfortunately and is very upset. you must be clear! and if they seem to not understand be more clear and list the things you won't eat. I'd do anything to avoid eating animal products of any kind

fresh casual cafe - Edit
In an outdoor shopping center/strip mall, Cafe del Soul is a casual health-focused cafe with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Should be dog-friendly if you eat outside. The menu states "anything can be made vegan" but I wasn't confident the person taking our order knew what vegan meant. I don't think there are any vegan dishes on menu, you have to ask for no cheese on whatever you order and most come with choice of chicken or tofu. Given their extensive use of cheese I was hoping they'd have a vegan option but was disappointed.

Good and refreshing - Edit
We really enjoyed the coconut curry soup of the day and the curry soul good rice dish, which was nicely spiced with mustard. Good portions, filling, and healthy. We sat in little chairs with big cushions, which was nice after a long drive. The atmosphere was trendy and clean even though it is located in a strip mall.

Veg Friendly? - Edit
I don't want completely slam this place, because I feel that the owners may have good intentions, but I would be very careful if you are vegan. While some of the employees here are nice and helpful, others have NO idea what is in the food they are serving and will tell you something is vegan when it in fact contains eggs or dairy. For instance; my girlfriend and I had been told that the house dip was vegan. We ate it a couple of times, only to find out later that it contains egg!!! I would always recommend asking a lot of questions with any place that isn't 100% vegan, but with this place..... well, if you want to give it a chance, go for it, but I'd advise caution. If the staff tells you the dip is vegan, leave!
