Vegan lunch, dinner and dessert - Edit

People come here for the quality of the food, affordable prices, no-nonsense atmosphere and friendly staff. The place is popular and busy but the staff is quick and efficient managing to keep up with the pace.

For lunch there is the big vegan curried tofu burger with jalapeños (I always ask for extra vegan mayo) and tomato-koriander saus. Also the soups are mostly vegan and you can order organic bread with hummus or olives as a side dish (or in the evening as a starter). The coffee is served with Tiny Tony's (the blue are vegan) and cappuccino or Latte can be made with soy milk. For something sweet you can go for the carrot cake or vegan ice cream.

In the evening the three vegan options are 1. the salad with tofu, bread and hummus or 2. the tofu tempeh skewer or 3. the vegan cheeseball. Now and then there's a vegan curry or falafel offered on the weekly menu (so check the black board).

The tofu tempeh skewer and the vegan cheeseball are served with veggies, two salads and a choice of either fries with vegan mayo, rice or potatoes. So it's a good amount of food. Although I 'm really full after one meal I don't care and always go for dessert!

There is always a vegan ice cream (sorbet or coconut ice cream, ask the staff what's available at the moment) that can be served with vegan chocolate saus. Or you could go for the homemade vegan carrot cake. Last week there was also a really tasty vegan salty chocolate cake with raspberry on the menu because the chefs at de Plak do love their vegans.

Nice and cosy in the city centre - Edit

We managed to visit once during our vacation. The place looks nice and is a good place to get some work done. There are a few vegan options. The desserts were our favourite. Go early for dinner because it's getting crowded pretty fast.

Pros: Good location, Cosy, Good value

only 1 vegan option - Edit

Went here, place was booming. Some vegetarian option with cheese and unfortunately only one vegan option. Tofu & Tempeh skewer tasted ok, but not something I would try again. Staff also werent as friendly as you'd expect. Left disappointed.

Pros: 1 vegan option

Cons: 1 vegan option

Nice cozy place in the center of the oldest town in The Netherlands. Staff is very friendly. Food is good. Some dishes are vegan, some have vegan options, talk to the waiters.
I had tempeh and tofu with teriyaki sauce and lots of vegetables, potato salad with vegan mayo. You can go there if you a very hungry or just want to have a bite or dessert :)

Pros: Friendly staff, Good food

Cons: Not many vegan options, Where is vegan ice-cream?

Good food! - Edit

I had the curried tofu burger from the lunch menu which was really nice and flavourful. The staff member was very helpful in informing us of which food on the menu was vegan or could be veganised.
I also had the coconut banana ice cream which was nice, but a bit pricey.
My friend also ate the carrot cake which is vegan and said it was really good!
Overall, would recommend!

Pros: Friendly staff!, Nicely spiced burger

Cons: Not a load of vegan options

good for a Nice price - Edit

A lot of vegetarian options and 3 vegan.
They do have a new lunch menu with vegetarian and vegan burgers.
If you ask The chef a vegan dish is arranged.
It is crowdy at dinnertime. Was a good choice to sit here. About an 8 minute walk to The station.

Only one vegan option.. - Edit

Many vegetarian options, one vegan option. The vegan option tastes very good(tempeh and tofu skewers with a tamari nut sauce), but it would be nice to order something else sometimes. Maybe another vegan dish?
