Cozy café at the beachfront

The Café de Acá serves excellent coffee and a good selection of fruit smoothies, sandwiches, pastries and breakfast platters at reasonable prices. I’ve had the quinoa salad with black beans and the veggie burger, and lots and lots of cappuccinos. There’s a casual and welcoming atmosphere and the barista Léo is bilingual in Spanish and English. Service is quick, the food is fresh and the café and its garden provide a shady break from the sunny beach. And when the café is closed, the beachfront bar La Barca opens, with food and drink service from 2-10PM every day. Some vegetarian options: grilled veggie platter, quinoa salad, tamari rice with veggies. A nice touch is that both the Café de Acà and La Barca use ceramic cups, plates and ordinary, not disposable, tableware.

There are also some interesting local products sold in the café : bags of the featured coffee, soap made with local ingredients from the lodge’s Permaculture project, insect repellent with essential oils.
