Salt and lots of it

Title says it all. It is just salt. They don’t seem to measure it by grams but by ounces and will throw it on your meal. Just go the vegetarian places just around the corner.

Essen war gut

service war freundlich aber alles in allem verstanden wir den hype nicht. Es gibt definitiv bessere Lokale mit besserer Atmosphäre.

Pros: Essen, Service

Cons: Atmosphäre megatouristisch

Very tasty

I had the vegetable pastilla and the chickpea Tomate soup. Both were super delicious. Great flavours. The staff is friendly and the space is very cool. Highly recommend this restaurant

Lots of choices

They mark all the veg and vegan options on the menu. The food is yummy. Try to get a seat on the roof.

Average and overpriced

It’s a big place without the most personal service because of its size, but the waiters are all friendly. A previous 1 star review complained of “diseased cats”. If you read that and thought it was a weird opinion to come from a vegan, we did too. Anyway, the staff seem to have responded to that: the one cat we saw, the waiter friendly shooed away.
The wedges and platter that we had were both nice, but they did seem overpriced compared to our meal at Veggie Place (and prices in Morocco in general) the previous day around the corner, where we paid 100 for more food of a similar quality at an entirely veggie place. So we’d recommended trying Veggie Place first.

Pros: Friendly staff

Cons: Overpriced , Veggie Place around the corner is far better

Good place to visit :)

This would be one of the first restaurants I'd reccomend in Fez after being here for a few days. The food is very tasty. And the waiters are nice.
Fez is not a vegan place, so don't expect too many options anywhere you go. However this place has enough to go here and try something new at least a few times.

Its not the most hygenic. But neither is any other place here to be fair 😅 learn to Embrace it I would say, your plates will be clean and that is what matters.
Really worth a try!

Pros: Very tasty vegan food, Clear what is vegan on the menu, Friendly staff

A great spot in a tough city for vegans

I had trouble in Fez finding good vegan food, but this place was a breath of fresh air, literally, as you sit on the roof taking in the views and eating tasty food.

Not many vegan options.

Cafe clock nice decor, terrace seating offers a nice view. A few vegetarian options that could be veganised. Espresso coffee was better than most in Fes.

Good choice, great service

Ate here for lunch and ordered the ‘Fez / Moroccan tapas plate’ which is one of vegan (V/V) options on the menu. It was nice: tasty and plenty for 1 person. I was particularly impressed by the service. They were attentive, on point and prompt which is often rare in Morocco.

A much needed vegan oasis

A much needed vegan oasis in the chaotic and smelly streets of Fes. Slightly hard to find down a small alley way, just follow the signs, and worth it. A three floor restaurant with an amazing rooftop terrace which is a quite and scenic escape from the streets below. My sister and I had the falafel platter(highly recommend) and the Avocado Citrus salad. Fruit Smoothie and Mint lemonade were also great. As a vegan, walking the streets of Morocco is very disturbing, and the smell is tough to forget. This was a great lunch stop.

Pros: A few but very delicious vegan options, Large Rooftop Terrace or ornate inside seating

Cons: Tough to find. Follow the signs, French fries could be crispier

Nice staff but overpriced

After seeing all the positive reviews we were so excited to try this place. However they didn’t have any falafel, which seems to happen at every restaurant in Morocco, and we ended up spending $60 Australian on two serves of cous cous and vegetables which was so simple and bland, and from the entree menu so not sure how much mains would cost.

The staff were so nice and they were closing so we ordered takeaway despite them offering to let us eat in. We also requested a tabouli on the side which they said they would give to us for free, but we didn’t realise it wasn’t packed until we got back to our riad.

Pros: Nice staff

Cons: Expensive

Pros: Viele vegane Optionen, Freundliche Mitarbeiter , Ein echter Geheimtipp

Go here if you are sick of Vegetarian Tajine!!

So this place was so refreshing after traveling through Morocco for 10 days. Everywhere in Morocco they serve you vegetarian Tajine. You get sick of it after day 2. Nothing special. So you can imagine the delight when we saw Cafe Clock had other vegan items on the menu! We had the Falafel, hummus & tabbouleh. We also ordered the Fez Platter Moroccan Tapas. We came back the next day and ordered the Vegetable B'stilla with Taktouka sauce as well as the Ras El Hanoot potato wedges. Everything was delicious!

Friendly waiters who speak English, restaurant is big with 3 floors (top floor overlooking the city), lots of character, clean and not expensive! What else you want? :)

Pros: Delicious food , Not your usual Vegetarian Tajine, Inexpensive

Way over-rated

As a group, We tried all the vegan dishes here. Unfortunately, it's the only place to get veggie food that ISN'T tajine. That's all they seem to serve you in Morocco. Tajine, tajine, tajine. Always tajine. It was a nice to escape the tajine for once.

Although the food was a welcome change, the dishes were nothing special or imaginative. In fact, it got boring eating them very quickly as they all just tasted the same as one another, except for the Moroccan soup, which was our favourite.......but still nothing special. I suppose I can't fault them fo r at least trying to have vegan options.

The staff seem friendly enough, especially the guys. Location is disgusting though, down a filthy alleyway, but hey, this is Fés.

But, however, the worst thing for us, which nearly made us sick, were the amount of vile dirty mangy cats roaming around the place. The whole place smells of dirty cats and cats piss. It's stomach churning. Even one of our group, a cat owner, was sickened to see this disease ridden animals lie on the chairs where we were sitting and then proceeded to lick the tables clean.....and the staff don't seem to clean the seats and tables with proper stuff before serving your food. Hygiene is very minimal here.

The whole experience made us swallow or food rather than eat it.

And it isn't cheap either.

Pros: Has vegan options, Male staff quite friendly, An okay toilet for Moroccan standards

Cons: Mangy filthy disease-ridden cats...and their piss , Bland monotonous foods, Not cheap

My favorite in Fes

A hip Moroccan atmosphere, often with live music. They have several vegan options. One of my favorites is the "Moroccan tapas", which is a lovely selection of Moroccan salads, cooked and raw, and almost a meal by itself. Service has always been friendly.

I falafel in love

Beautiful view from terrace. We ordered the Fes platter, falafel, and harrira.

Fes platter- not my cup of tea but was not bad. For quantity and quality of food definitely a good price 6/10

Falafel- my personal favourite. Comes with home made hummus and tubule. The hummus was not very good but in saying that the falafels were so good they were better on their own. 9/10

Harrira- Mum and Dads favourite. Very filling. 8/10

We also got the ginger lemonade and mint lemonade which were both amazing.

Pros: Easy to read menu, Friendly staff, Easy to get to

Beautiful place with some vegan options

Has some vegan options, the best one was falafels with hummus and tabouleh. We also tried the vegan Moroccan tapas, but not my taste and could not eat it all.
Very pretty place, not too difficult to find if using maps.
Very friendly staff with well spoken English!

Pros: friendly staff, good English, vegan options

Excellent food

The food here was very good. Over two nights I had the harira, b’stilla, and the Fez Platter. the platter was the best deal and best flavours but everything is European prices, very expensive for Morocco but not as bad as London and it’s a good clean place with decent chefs and a good enough range for vegans.
A warning for real vegans, though (or anyone that doesn’t want their food sweetened by insect vomit): The sherikyas and other little sweets you get with the harira and the platter are definitely made with honey. obviously regurgitated pollen stolen from insects shouldn’t be included where it claims to be “vegan” but considering how hard it is to get people to understand this simple concept in Northern Europe you can’t expect them ti get it all right here. hopefully enough people will point it out for them to make the little change, I just gave them away and enjoyed the rest.
