Great conversation and comfort vegetarian food - Edit
Apparently locals come here to practice their English, so there were a lot of people interested in speaking with us as it was obviously our language of preference. We had the nachos, fries, and falafel. Plenty of food for 2 adults and one kid. Oh and they have a small selection of games like Taboo and Uno. Helped keep our 19 year old entertained and a friend of the staff joined us!

Good vegetarian but poor vegan - Edit
The atmosphere is nice enough and the staff is very nice. They have tons of vegetarian options but unfortunately hardly any vegan ones. All the curries are vegan (three) and then the risotto which is just rice heated up in tomatoes. when asked if the onion rings were vegan they did not know and asked the chef, turns out he did not know either. Very pricey for the quantity.

Read moreAt Cafe Byron Bay we always try to use organic ingredients for all our vegan and vegetarian dishes, at the same time we try to buy local products as much as we can, in order to support the small business around our area. Perhaps that's the main reason why you found some of our dishes a bit pricey compared to other restaurants in Japan. We will try to adjust our prices when we change our menu in the near future. So don't forget to come to visit us again next time you are in Tokyo.

First time here - Edit
I came here to grab a healthy meal after a week’s worth of eating sodium and oil heavy foods. To my pleasant surprise, there was bar seating where it was just a bunch of locals and the English speaking staff (who were from America, Mexico, and Japan). I ended up staying for 2 hours just to chat. It was a super fun experience and the taco rice was delicious!

Friendly place for locals and foreigners alike - Edit
I need to balance this out... the previous review was unfortunate, I'm sorry that person maybe had a bad experience, but I go there regularly, so I think I have a better idea of how this place runs...
Read moreThis is one of my favourite places in Tokyo, staff are always very kind, and the idea of the place is to have a friendly English speaking environment for locals to mix with foreigners without any social pressure, and I made a lot of new friends there...
As far as the food and the philosophy, it's not solely for vegetarians, but even the non-vege products are sourced locally and they use as many organic ingredients as they can, so I find it hard to believe that anyone was served any form of convenience store food.
I am vegan, and we can always discuss a food item and where it came from before eating it, there's no problem there.
The main reason I love this place is because of the people, the staff, and the regular guests, and how this atmosphere happily allows any new visitor to the cafe to join in the conversation and feel welcome.
And of course, the owner, Noah, is one of the kindest people in the world, and made me feel welcome in Tokyo right from the beginning :)
Pros: Friendly staff, Good conversation, Changing menu with variety
Cons: HappyCow wont let me give a 5 star rating :/
