Disappointing - give it a miss

Really sad that the wait-staff don’t seem to have any idea about basic hospitality skills or customer service, especially the waitress who usually serves me - no smile no nothing, almost feel scared to ask her anything. Waited 40 minutes for a coffee today and the vegan baked potato (which used to be delicious) was cooked in the microwave with small amount of marg and dry coleslaw?? When I asked for beans the waiter told me twice the price and said ‘remember to pay at the end’ - as if I wouldn’t pay!? Used to be beans, avo, proper coleslaw, butter, all included. This place has really gone downhill and unfortunately I’m sick of giving the benefit of the doubt and will be going elsewhere. Another table of customers were also waiting - one persons order never arrived and rest of the table had all finished, when the lady went to ask about it the waitress was quite rude and said ‘well we didn’t know you have to come in and tell us’ ... wtf.

Pros: Hard to think of many, It’s one of two cafes near my house?

Cons: Not many vegan options, New staff - poor customer service, They stopped stocking vegan cheese/mayo

Tasty but expensive

Definitely not cheap. The only cafe in Monbulk with dedicated vegan meals, though. Still quite delicious

Pros: Not just salads/chips etc., Food was tasty and flavoursome, Food was creative

Cons: Expensive

Worth a visit

Happy to find a little cafe in the Dandenongs with a small but decent range of vegan options, including cakes/slices.

The owner and staff were enthusiastic about their vegan options and were all very friendly and helpful.

I enjoyed a pleasant meal, but the highlight was the vegan chai; seriously the best I've had in a long time.

Second visit:
Discovered they have stopped frying chips separately due to a broken fryer which they haven't replaced. They did however agree to shallow fry our sweet potato fries which were quite good nevertheless.

The veggie burger was a very loosely formed rice patty, well flavoured and enjoyable.

This visit, they seemed confused about making chai with the vegan mix and it wasn't as good as the first visit (different barista).
