Nice food, check opening times - Edit
Had spotted this place one afternoon, so went back another day to find it closed. There was a sign in the door apologising for limited opening times and suggesting other vegan friendly places. Sadly I had no more days left in my holiday so the best I could do was call in for take away on the way home the next morning.
Read moreWe ordered savoury pastries and cakes. All were delicious. My husband said it was the best vegan cornish he's ever eaten. The millionaire cheesecake was also delicious (if a little difficult to eat as take away with your fingers!)
Interior is modern, and says cafe bar more than vegan cafe. Would have liked to eat in if I'd had the chance.

Good but could be great - Edit
The food is great but service needs to be a bit slicker. This could be a great vegan place and should proudly trumpet the fact that it is plant-based rather than seeming to apologise for it. The foccacia and broad bean dip was fabulous, as were the tabbouleh and the kofta.

Vegan Gem in Keswick - Edit
Lovely place for a vegan pit stop whilst in The Lakes. Great atmosphere and lovely cafe itself, music is chilled too. Visited for coffee and cake and back again the next day for lunch. Unfortunately only serving a very limited menu with cakes, small plates, wine and cocktails whilst they appoint a new chef. House milk is oat but have soya milk too. Check their opening hours before visiting as they don’t open every day. Will definitely be back next time we visit.

Solid vegan brunch - Edit
We came here in a pinch looking for a pre-walk breakfast and it was decent. I enjoyed the oats with PBJ, however could have had more choice of vegan options e.g full vegan breakfast

Not necessarily the best of Keswick, but very nice that they have an all vegan menu and good options for dessert. Ideal location if you arrive in Keswick after a hike.

We all loved this little gem, found just round the corner from Lake Derwentwater. We had the nachos, hummus and pita and chocolate cake- all of which were delicious! The coffee was amazing, definitely the best we had all holiday. The interiors were lovely and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend!!!

Cool Bar with hopefully more vegan food on the menu soon - Edit
We had a lovely time in Cafe Bar 26. Good drinks and tasty snacks. We got to talk to the owner who is a really inspiring vegan. She plans to transform this place further and bring more vegan food items on the menu. We can highly recommend going there.

Brilliant Plant Based Cafe/Bar - Edit
My wife and I are visiting Keswick and booked a table at Cafe Bar 26 mainly because we are vegan and love trying places that are plant based when we are on our travels.
Read moreTo say we were impressed this evening is an understatement !
The food menu has a tapas feel to it and what we had was fabulous. We made sure (for test purposes only you understand !) that we had plenty of the dishes on offer and ended up with 8 plates which included ‘meat’ balls, ‘Fish’ Goujons, Vietnamese Fries, Mock Duck Pancakes, Chick’n Nuggets, and others. They were absolutely faultless ! Tasty, plentiful and clearly lovingly prepared.
We were chatting with the owner who is a lovely lady and deserves success at this brilliant place. It boasts a comfortable setting inside and a great atmosphere.
The staff were friendly and we will undoubtedly go back the next time we are in Keswick and suggest you don’t miss it when you are there either ! We are pretty taken with Cafe Bar 26. Can you tell ?!
Pros: Tasty plant based tapas style plates , Great staff and a passionate owner , Super atmosphere

Another new, vegan-friendly eatery in Keswick - Edit
Our first visit to Cafe Bar 26 since we saw publicity for its exclusively plant-based menu, although we had been customers several times before for music evenings. We met friends for Sunday lunch this time and had mezze platter from the small plate menu with a side order of spicy fries. We had a bit of a wait for the meals to arrive, even though the bar was quiet, but the food was good and the staff friendly. Worth a visit.
