CLOSED: Cafe Annapurna

Tucked away next to a McDonald's of all places, the food here is quite good. While not 100% vegetarian, the owner, who was running the counter when I was there, was very glad to hear that I was a vegetarian, and went out of here way to recommend selections. Any restaurant that is friendly toward vegetarians gets additional points in my book.

I was disappointed with the lack of vegan options here. The one time I went, there was one vegan option, which was the vegetarian plate. It consisted of white rice, a small cup of flavorful soup, a vegetable curry dish, and what I believe is called a papadam. It was very much like Indian food. It was served on a styrofoam plate. It was a nice meal. But, the atmosphere is pretty sterile and boring.

Has a number of vegetarian indian/nepali dishes, like chole (chana masala), vegetarian momo (dumplings), particularly a vegetarian platter (contents vary day by day) with rice, dal, a few small sides and served with papad. Still serves some menu items from the previous greek business like baklava and (lamb) gyros.

This is not a 100% vegetarian restaurant, but they are vegetarian friendly. A few members from TalVeg said the Nepali vegetarian platter was good. In addition, they have Lhasa noodles, curry tofu wrap, and a garden salad. There is more detailed review on www.talveg.com
