The Bitter Brew - Edit
There’s an unwritten rule in the world of dining: a bad meal might earn a second chance, but poor service? That’s the death knell. Café Amor in Durango, Colorado, boasts a warm name and an intriguing promise—vegan pastries if you believe the praise on Happy Cow. But promises, like pastries, can be stale.
Read moreFifteen pastries lined a beautiful and , none labeled. An innocent question—'Which of these are vegan?'—was met with a vague wave of the hand. One might have assumed this gesture meant all of them, but that’s where assumptions get you into trouble. Clarification was sought, and with a roll of the eyes, the barista pointed to one lonely pastry. The rest? Apparently off-limits to those seeking a plant-based delight.
The rudeness wasn’t just a glitch in an otherwise smooth experience; it was the experience. It’s the kind of service that doesn’t just ruin a morning but sours a reputation. It’s the kind of indifference that drives customers out the door, leaving Café Amor to stew in its own mediocrity.
In the end, it’s simple: bad service turns away more customers than a bad meal ever could. Café Amor, take note. A bit of kindness might have gone a long way.
Cons: Cannot give it Zero Stars

Vegan pastries! - Edit
Came for the highly rated coffee, stayed for the surprise vegan pastries! They pulled them out of a tupperware that made it seem like they were homemade by a local. Classic Durango!
