No Vegan Options

They do not have vegan options. Unsure on vegetarian. The waitstaff does not know what vegan vegetarian or plant based means.

Pros: I have heard the food is good if you’re not vegan

Cons: No vegan options.

Cacao is delicious!

Very clean and comfortable atmosphere with friendly staff and knowledgeable servers. All of the margaritas are delicious and the vegetarian/vegan food is just as good as the regular menu items (if not a little better, in my opinion). It’s worth a stop if you’re looking for good options at a Mexican restaurant in south KC. The veg menu is not separate from the regular menu.

Pros: Several vegetarian and vegan options , Impressive drink menu , Helpful staff

Cons: Expensive , Long waits on weekends

Good food and atmosphere

Chips and salsa are an appetizer that cost more than your regular meal. You do get to try 3 types of their salsas though, and I did enjoy all three. There was a hot (which was not hot), a green verde (my fav), and a regular salsa (someone mentioned it tastes like marinara, I do agree to a point). Their chunky salsa tastes like chain salsas who use too much tomato sauce as a base. There were 2 main dishes you could get vegan or veg. One was quinoa tacos and the other was veggie enchiladas. I got the enchiladas with the green verde on top. They were good, came with black beans and rice as well. They are a little pricey, but not much more than a chain restaurant (mi ranchito etc). I would go back.

Our “go to”

The food here is great! They have a separate vegetarian menu with plenty of options. The flor de calabaza enchiladas are amazing. I crave them! Almost better than the food though is the service. Every time I’ve been here it’s been top notch.

Good qinuao tacos

The restaurant is beautiful and has a decent vegetarian selection that can be made vegan. The quinoa tacos were great, and the veggie enchiladas were okay except that the red sauce tasted like a marinara. The chips and salsa order comes with 4 different salsas, so that was nice too.

Pros: Quinoa tacos were excellent, interior is beautiful, willing to make things vegan

Cons: a bit on the pricy side , red sauce tasted like marinara , food was a bit underseasoned
