Great food - Edit

Definitely great food. One of my favourite spots in New York. I absolutely love their salads. Not the best I have ever had but good enough. The only problem this place is very busy and the service may be little unfriendly.
Try their Kale Caesar salad and sweet potato fries. They are sir baked but still somehow pretty oily.

New Favorite - Edit

Definitely added to my list of favorite vegan spots! They have a really great selection with lots of comfort food classics turned vegan. The only con is that the burgers are a bit on the small side, especially for the price and I feel like you need to order an extra side to be fully satisfied. Everything else I've tried definitely comes with a decent portion.

From the main menu I've tried the classic burger, sweet potato fries, Mac and cheese, kale and artichoke dip, avocado pesto pasta (on separate occasions, I promise!) It's all really great. I believe the guac burger is one of the most popular items, which sounds fantastic, as the classic burger was already good.

They have a brunch menu available weekends (until 4pm). I've tried the daily special pancakes, banana bread chocolate chip, which were amazing!! Can't wait to try more off this menu.

Then there's the bakery and desserts  Cupcakes, so moist and perfectly sweet. Try the raspberry tiramisu flavored if it's available!!!
They also have house-made ice cream, cookies, muffins, etc.

Anyways I highly recommend this place. I think I can say I now have the goal of trying the whole menu to add to my bucket list! Would also be a great place to take non-vegans.

Pros: free wifi

Cons: use lots of plastic , burger size vs. price

Nice place - Edit

We had lunch there and it was ok but we were surprised because we found mostly fast food and not that healthy. there was too much noise at the place and not enough space to seat. Tasty food, a little bit pricey. Awesome cupcakes, we ordered the chocolate one (of course!) and the seasonal (pumpkin, really good).

Pros: Good food, Central, Delicious cupcakes

Cons: Pricey, Noisy , Not much place to seat

Cons: my French fries could have been hotter.

The best 🍔 - Edit

This place is amazing, go here! There are a few outlets around NYC.

Yes, this place serves up vegan junk food, but the flavours are so fresh and so clean! We had the Pesto Meatball Sandwich, and the Whiskey BBQ Burger, both delicious! We do wish we had shared some fries though too. On the menu you can get either french fries or sweet potato fries, but I saw many people go half n half, which looked like a pretty sweet idea.

Next time I head to NYC I will deffo return, and try the breakfasts and desserts.

Also the branding and look of this place is super cool, you must check it out, you'll wish so hard that there was one back home (please open one in LONDON!)

Pros: Tasty tasty food, cool place with great branding, I wanted to eat everything

Cons: I couldn't eat everything, brekkie and brunch only served 'til 11am Mon - Fri, we were too lazy for these hours when we went!

omg yummmm - Edit

Wow. By Chloe was so good! One of the best vegan burgers I've ever had. The fries are good, the vegan Mac n cheese is easily some of the best I've ever had, but the smoothies are where the real deal is... the most delicious things you'll ever sip! I couldn't decide on which one to buy! This place was amazing and good value and I can't wait to go back!

Some of the Best Vegan Food Ever! - Edit

This is a fast food vegan spot in NYU with about three locations at present. They have some of the best version of vegan foods I've had (burgers, mac & cheese, pesto), and their salads are amazing. It can be hard to find a seat, and the lines can sometimes be out of control, but the food is amazing!

fast and clean - Edit

Had the classic burger and Mac n cheese. Burger wasn't anything to write home about visually but was great especially with healthy doses of beer ketchup and chipotle aioli, then add some Mac N cheese into the burger and my what a treat! The mac N cheese is creamy and delicious, and the serving is hefty even for a small.

Pros: delicious, quick service , nice presentation

Cons: classic burger a little plain on it's own

Love this place! - Edit

I haven't had the pleasure of trying everything on their menu yet but I absolutely love their Pesto "Meatball" sandwich. Their Mac N' Cheese was good but I've had better vegan Mac N' Cheese before. Only drawbacks are that this place is usually packed and hard to find a seat and their prices aren't expensive but they aren't cheap either. Still, highly recommend anyone to try. Even my non-vegan friend absolutely loved it haha.

Pros: Absolutely delicious food!, 100% Vegan!, Wide selection

Cons: Prices aren't amazing, Always packed, hard to find seat

Lives Up to the Hype - Edit

Despite knowing about the ownership drama going on at the moment (which, as a customer, has be quite frustrated to hear the story), I couldn't visit NYC without trying out the famous by Chloe.

It lived up to the hype! My dinner companion and I ordered two sandwiches and sides of air-baked fries and mac and cheese. The mushroom "bacon" on top of the mac and cheese really surprised my omnivorous dinner partner, while I found the whiskey BBQ sandwich to be so satisfying! Also, a highlight of the meal was definitely the beet ketchup and the spicy aioli!

Long lines but quick service. Around dinner time, it could be hard to find a seat.

Pros: Delicious and satisfying, Quick service, Clean and fun decor

Cons: Long lines, Limited seating

Hidden gem - Edit

Tucked away on a side street in Chelsea, this branch of By Chloe, this place just what was needed. The food is as excellent as the original on Bleeker, but the space is way nicer - with a better flow to handle to crowds. Between the rushes hours it is positively peaceful.

Pros: Excellent casual spot, Great value, Clean restroom

DELICIOUS - Edit

I honestly never get tired of byChloe's food because it's just SO good!! The guac burger and mac and cheese are the absolute best choices (I've had pretty much everything on the menu) but the market veggies, taco salad, and variety of sweets are just all good as well. You can't go wrong at byChloe

good but expensive - Edit

Their menu os rather small, but their food is delicious, especially their mac and cheese!
The prices are very high though. $10 or more for a salad or sandwich with no sides. Seating is pretty hard to get if you go during a busy time. I like this place, but wouldn't go regularly as the prices are a little too high for me.

Pros: great food mac and cheese

Cons: expensive limited seating

Not a lot of bang for your buck - Edit

My boyfriend and I were in NYC for the weekend and decided to try By Chloe because it was only a few blocks from our hotel and it was open early enough for us to get a meal before an afternoon event at Madison Square Garden. I had high hopes going in, but they were sadly dashed. While the place is bright and friendly, with ample seating, the food is overpriced, even for NYC. I mean, $12 for a seitan sandwich that comes with no sides is a bit much, even if it was tasty. And $4.25 for a pile of "air-baked" fries that were soft and almost soggy is ridiculous. I've had air-baked fries before, and they're pretty good. My boyfriend got one of the breakfast platters and enjoyed it, but the food seemed crammed in the to-go container, and the portions seemed small.

Furthermore, if I'm paying that much for food, you can have someone run it to the table instead of me having to wait at the counter, where a bunch of people are trying to order their food. As another reviewer points out, it really is (overpriced) vegan fast food.

Pros: All vegan, Friendly, Open early on weekends

Cons: Terrible fries, overpriced

Not quite what we hoped for - Edit

This place basically is a vegan fast food restaurant. It only takes them 5 mins to prepare your food. Unfortunately, the quality of the food wasn't what we had hoped for. The air baked sweet potato fries were kinda fluffy and far from that nice and crunchy bite I'm looking for. Classic burger was a tad boring and small portioned. Meat ball sandwich was more interesting, with portobello in the balls. However, also a pretty small portion and taste not remarkable.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Atmosphere is what you might expect from a fast food restaurant, just with a bunch of vegans in it :-)

Pros: Fast service

Cons: Burger and fries not too tasty, Small portions

breakfast--NOM! - Edit

Breakfast - sunrise breakfast burrito was scrumptious! I also had the "Hostess" cupcake. Yum!!
My non-vegan daughters ate bakery items - old fashioned chocolate chip cookie and raspberry tiramisu cupcake. They loved it!
Hoping I have time later to go back for dinner.

Pros: deliciousness!

Delicious sandwich - Edit

I ordered the whiskey BBQ sandwich which was wonderful. The amount of tang was just right, the texture was excellent. It was yummy and well worth the cost.
The fries however were awful. They were supposed to be air fried but generally had no crispness and tasted like cold boiled potatoes. The cupcake was also good.
The restaurant is very small and has counter service which I like especially when running errands by myself. The service was good. T :) e wait for the food was not too long although the cramped space made it a little difficult to stay out of other people's way.

Pros: Excellent sandwiches, Fairly quick counter service, Lots of small tables, was able to sit down at noon

Cons: Limp fries, Cramped space

great but - Edit

I had a guac burger with the sweet potato fries. the burger was really good, but I think the sweet potato missed a bit in taste, but luckily the beet ketchup made them taste great. I was still hungry after the burger and fries which is why they only get 4 stars.

Good vegan spot - Edit

I had breakfast there, a big one with a smoothie bowl and an "Early Bird" (scramble tofu, salad, sausage, toast).
It was very good. I would go back for a lunch to taste their lunch option.
However I found it too expensive: 25 dollars for the two and a tea, it's a bit too much when it's not a sit-down restaurant.

Pros: Tasty, Lots of choices

Cons: Pricey

eat here now!!! - Edit

By Chloe offers so many delicious options that I didn't know what I was going to order until I reached the counter. Even now, I'm still dying to try pretty much every single item I didn't order. The southwest salad and fries were incredible, and the cupcake I grabbed to go on my way out was scrumptious. I've heard rumors that there is a ByChloe location opening in Boston soon, and I cannot WAIT to give it a try
