Beautiful setting and delicious food - Edit
Came here twice over two trips to Kolkata - and it was one of the reasons for the return trip! The restaurant is set in a beautifully restored colonial building and has an upmarket feel, although dishes are very reasonably priced. It’s entirely vegetarian and most of the dishes are also vegan.
Read moreThere’s a wide selection and everything I tried was delicious. My particular favourite was the Khowsuey, which had a mild creamy coconut flavour, and the mock meat skewers. The Lotus Biscoff bubble tea, which is vegan, is also worth ordering and makes an amazing (and filling) dessert!
I would recommend buying a jar of the garlic chilli sauce to take home as it’s great in a stir fry or ramen.
Only downside is no alcohol is served, and a beer would have rounded off the meal nicely. But there is a selection of fresh juices and sodas.

Burma Burma is one of the upscale vegetarian restaurants in Kolkata. Really nice ambience. The service was great. All the servers were aware of what vegan food is. So it was easy to order vegan food there. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and main courses. All of them were nice. They only have one vegan dessert. Make sure to ask the server whenever you order something vegan. The food was enjoyed by my parents as well who are not vegan or vegetarian.
