BEST - Edit
Love this spot. The food can take a little while but always worth the wait.
Pros: they don't try to imitate meat, everything is delish, you'll want to eat til you can't breath
Cons: the food can sometimes take a while.

Small portions - Edit
Far away from everything, an adventure. The food is interesting as it's different but the portions are too small. The unfriendly staff don't help you and the place was so dark I could barely see what I was eating. Anyway, the food was tasty.
Pros: Different, exotic
Cons: Far away, unfriendly staff, expensive

so much flavour! - Edit
We ordered a feast for 2. It came with 4 pieces of bread and every item was delicious. It was so filling. We didn't have a reservation but turned up around opening time and got a seat. I also had dessert which was delicious.

Exciting, colorful meals! - Edit
I've been to Bunna twice and highly recommend it, but more so for dinner when you can get the "meal" or "feast", which is essentially a plate of the most delicious and colorful veggies, beans, and grains! Definitely check the website for the hours the "meal/feast" is served; the last time I went to Bunna, early on a Saturday afternoon, I was told this fabulous dish was not available and was limited to the brunch menu, which was good, just not nearly as delectable as the huge meal dish.
Pros: The meal
Cons: The meal not served all hours

Vegan, Spicy Gem in Bushwick - Edit
Beautiful place with authentic and creative foods. Our brunch group tried one of everything. The pan - fried brunch bread was amazing. If you are looking for injera though, aim for dinner. Special coffee ceremony most days - check the website to be sure of times.
Pros: Fresh food, Unique bar drinks, Great coffee

Tasty! - Edit
I had to eat more than once at this place. The food is very tasty and also different to what you would find around in the area. Definitely recommended.
PD: Yes, you eat with your hands there.

super super - Edit
Super simple lunch menu - is there better value anywhere in NYC with an 8 dish sampler for 2 for $15? Loved the food, wholesome and interesting. Decent drinks menu and apparently they have some evening events. Definitely recommended for lunch. Do yourself a favour and try this wonderful food.
Pros: inexpensive, plenty of room, great valuie
Cons: a little dark inside

Awesome - Edit
I love Bunna! Every time I go I get the sampler plate and its always delicious. Their smoothies are great as well, and the service has never once been less than spectacular.
My only complaint is that the server occasionally forgets to bring the gluten free option of rice when asked, but they always rectify it immediately. Also, the gluten free bread is a little bit spongey and heavy.
Pros: delicious, quick service

Loved the Brunch - Edit
We went here in April for the brunch. My husband and I both got sampler plates and everything we dried was delicious - including the mimosas. I highly recommend checking it out!

Great feast! - Edit
Went with a few friends and we split the feast for four, great variety of food and good for the cost. Everything is vegan and the bread can be gluten free if you call in advance. Friendly vibe, just all around fantastic experience.
Pros: filling, great atmosphere, good value

Look ma, no hands! - Edit
My wife and I shared the feast for two, an ethiopiano, a shai, lentil sambusa and baklava. Perfect Ethiopian experience. For anyone that hasn't eaten Ethiopian, heads up you eat with your hands and you'll probably want a few extra injera.
Pros: totally vegan, atmosphere was warm and spacious, flavorful food and generous portions
Cons: bathroom could use lathering soap and airblade han

Feast! - Edit
Shared the feast for 3 with gluten free injera (Ethiopian flatbread) and loved it. This comes with a small amount of every entrée on the menu and all of them were excellent with good portion sizes. (You need to give 24 hours notice for the gluten free injera).
There was only one desert choice, baklava, but I was too full to even consider it!
The staff were friendly and helpful, and while the restaurant was very busy, it did not feel overcrowded.
Certainly a place to return to.
Pros: Great food, Friendly attentive staff, Good value
Cons: Only one desert choice (baklava)

Very low key - Edit
This is a great spot for quality vegan Ethiopian food with a friendly staff, laid back atmosphere and a full bar!
Try the layered smoothie for desert!
