Not vegan friendly

The staff seems to dislike vegans as they don’t offer help when ordering a vegan burger. The buns aren’t vegan. The dressings and sauces are mostly not vegan. There’s really no reason to go there.

Cons: Service is bad , No vegan options on the menu

Pros: Lecker

Cons: Bestellen etwas mühsam

Quirky little burger den close to main station

Bully's burger is a small burger den tucked between two large streets, super close to Mainz main station. They recently added pea patties to their menu, which now allows you to get all their burger options in a vegetarian version - if you want their vegan options, please specify which ingredients you're okay with just to be safe. Otherwise you might end up with an egg on your burger, or possibly their non-vegan bread. (This hasn't happened to me and they did ask if I would be ok with dairy cheese, so they seem to be aware of different needs, but I'd recommend making sure they understand what you want.) They do also offer vegan sandwich bread, but you need to specify when ordering.

The burgers themselves are rich and the options are varied and delicious, although it would be great if they added more vegan options such as smoked tofu rashers or tempeh rashers as substitute for bacon.

It's cozy to sit inside, but very limited seating. You can also sit outside in summer, but be aware of the noisy traffic (and the traffic fumes!). If you want to sit outside but don't like noise/ fumes, there is a park just a block down the road, behind the big ministerial building that you can see from the burger den.

Pros: Great taste, Fun & iconic location, Creative varieties of burgers

Cons: Very small indoors, Outdoors noisy traffic, Could have more vegan substitutes
