Da vegano, apprezzo molto la cura nel proporre le ricette della tradizione in chiave vegetale. Ho scelto un carciofo alla romana, servito al tegamino: ben cotto, morbido e condito il giusto. A seguire, la carbonara veg servita al tavolo nella tipica padella di alluminio: buona mantecatura, crema avvolgente e una parte vegetale bella dorata che dà al piatto un carattere deciso.
Per chiudere, una cheesecake in un vasetto di vetro: base friabile, crema leggera e tanti lamponi e mirtilli freschi.
Si confermano un indirizzo affidabile e un progetto etico portato avanti con serietà. Ci tornerò volentieri.
🇬🇧 I returned to Buddy, right in the city center, after a few years. Today, just like last time, I was in Rome for work accompanying a group, and took advantage of the lunch break to go with a safe bet.
The location is convenient, just steps from Piazza Navona, in a comfortable environment with outdoor seating available. I must point out a unique detail in the restrooms: forest-themed walls and birdsong playing from the speakers. An unexpected moment of relaxation.
As a vegan, I really appreciate the care in offering traditional recipes in a plant-based version. I chose an artichoke 'alla romana', served 'al tegamino' (in its small pan): well-cooked, tender, and properly seasoned. Following that, the veg carbonara served at the table in a typical aluminum pan: a nice creamy texture and a nicely golden plant-based component that gives the dish a resolute character.
To finish, a cheesecake in a glass jar: a crumbly base, light cream, and plenty of fresh raspberries and blueberries.
They confirm themselves as a reliable place and an ethical project carried out with seriousness. I will gladly return.

Read moreThen, the food. I have to admit I was cautious because of the mixed reviews. But man.. Have I missed eating a proper carbonara, since going vegan and this fully hit the spot. Afterwards a pinsa with scrambled tofu (awesome flavour-combo) and some nice vegan dolci, although the desserts were not their strongest selling point. They were on my go-to-list, definite recommendation!

100% vegan restaurant on the San Andrea della valle square, mid-size, with a few tables also outside. A pleasant and nicely decorated restaurant with an incredibly rich menu - from starters all the way to desserts, including wines, beers, soft drinks and smoothies... Staff is friendly and attentive, prices are in line with the location. Recommended 👍

This is a vegan and vegetarian friendly restaurant along Corso Vittorio Emanuelle II just across from Basilica di Sant'Andrea della Valle. They have a fair-sized indoor seating area as well as outdoor tables. Opening hours are 9am to 11pm (weekends) and 10am to 11pm (weekdays). Menu features a range of salads, pastas and other Italian dishes prepared suitable for those seeking plant-based dining options around the city.

Went twice. Tried the Buddha Bowl and two pastas and the Greek Salad and meatballs and pizza among other things. All of it was excellent. The feta in the Greek salad was delicious, very realistic and there was so much of it. The atmosphere is very nice. The patio is so pretty.

How can you visit Rome without trying tiramisu?! I came here specifically for this and was amazed by how divine it was. I requested to know the ingredients in their Tiramisu: soy cream, rice cream, cocoa. I also had a Cicoria ripassata (sautéed chicory) for takeaway. I will definitely try other dishes on their menu.

I’ve been at Buddy Veggy three years ago, and I have to admit that both the quality of the food as well as of the service degraded. The food (Bowl Proteica) tasted like nothing and the some of the waiters were very stressed and unfriendly. Such a pity for a place with this status. Maybe it was just my unfortunate individual experience, but either way I hope they’ll recover and get better again.

I had a great pizza here (pinsa sec) Delicious focaccia type base with lovely fresh toppings and lovely melty ‘cheese’. My husband wasn’t going to have anything but ended up having 3 slices of my pizza, which was fine as it was generously sized. Lovely informal atmosphere and friendly helpful staff.

Read moreWe visited five days in a row because we loved it so much. The food is incredible, the staff super nice and welcoming, the prices are totally appropriate and the atmosphere is nice as well. We highly recommend the pancakes with hazlenut cream, pasta carbonara, mezza manica alla porcina felice, pinsa speck and focaccia, though everything we ate was great!
