Momos waren top - Edit

Just ask waiter who will advise what is vegan / can be made vegan. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very tasty food. Great location on harbour. Sunny and warmest spot of Madeira.

Good option for vegan food in the area - Edit
Offers to adapt dishes and make them vegan on request, only needs to be mentioned to the friendly staff. The menu already has some vegan options.

Mediocre at best - Edit
We chose the Indian dishes on the menu. The onion bhaji was too greasy. The samosas were ok, but they had put some type of salt over the starters, which made them too salty for my taste. The vegetarian biryani was very clearly made with frozen vegetables and ok. The eggplant dish was also just ok. We didn't really enjoy our meals, we just ate because we were hungry. The price was too expensive for what it was. Maybe the vegan sushi is tastier.

Worst experience in Madeira - Edit
We spoke with several waiters who all said something different about what was vegan and what wasn’t. They brought us the wrong drinks and were unsure about many things. The food itself was very disappointing: the momos were extremely spicy (uneatable for me) and the dhal had no taste at all. Don’t recommend at all.

Good food, mediocre service - Edit
Really enjoyed our meal here but the service wasn’t amazing. Asked several times if what we ordered was vegan and one dish still came with paneer and reita. I’d still recommend the restaurant, just be really clear about what you want. We had the vegetarian sushi plate, a Tibetan dumpling starter and rice with a variety of small dishes, including lentil daal.

First of all the view is amazing & also staff is friendly. Many dishes which can be made vegan, just ask.

It would have been nice if all the ingredients were fresh instead of frozen vegetables, for example. But overall was the taste good.

Lots of vegan options, very tasty. - Edit
We really loved this place. Many vegan options on the menu, although they are not labeled and you have to ask. We had the sushi plattern which had some very unusual but very tasty rolls, some Indian appetizers and the momos. Everything was delicious, service was fast and friendly, and the location with a view of the harbor is pleasant.

Vegan Sushi - Edit
The vegan sushi was good, so I am curious to try the indian food. Unfortunately the vegan options are not labeled in the menu, but the waiter answered all our questions and double checked with the kitchen. There are no vegan desserts except of fruit salad. The terrasse is nice.

Nice restaurant but bit blend vegan sushi - Edit
We went twice to this nice restaurant along the harbour. The people who work there are really friendly and compared to the neighbouring restaurants, this one looks nice and cozy, with a good ambience. The first time we went for Indian food. I had the alo gobi which was quite good. The second time we went for the sushi. You can order 12 or 20 or even more pieces like a combo. When you ask for vegan they will make it completely plant based. The flavours were surprisingly nice (mango and pineapple for example) but for me it was a bit blend compared to the sushi I am used to. You could also eat all the wasabi at once without your mouth getting on fire 😂

Regret not having more! - Edit
This was some of the BEST vegan sushi I’ve ever had! We were looking for a small-ish snack but boy, so I regret not going for the 24 piece meal! Think I chose the, 12 or 16 vegetable sushi pieces between us. I wish I’d gone for more.

Abundance for a normal restaurant - Edit
We went here at least three times, tried almost all their vegan options and there were still things left to discover. It is a blend between Japanese and Indian. Sounds like a cheap "let's offer it all" combination but it somehow works this time. They make both of the cuisines surprisingly well. The menu is not labeled but staff was always helpful and acknowledged.
Read moreWhat I loved was that you are able to pick up healthy whole food dishes like the Indian curries with whole grain Naan (how often do you see that?), vegan poke bowl with quinoa and the amazing mixed green salad where they make magic with their spices and push seemingly ordinary salad to an experience you'll get hooked on to.
And then you have also all the not so wholesome choices like big mix of really good vegan sushi, spring rolls, samosas and all kind of starters I didn't even know before.
I do prefer this one to the neighbor Italian. Mostly because it's more options, more balanced and in my opinion you definitely don't sacrifice any taste either. Yum!
Pros: Balanced vegan options , Variety, Whole food options
Cons: Vegan dishes not labeled
