Heavenly Vegan Food - Edit

The waffles and brownie here are so amazing and quite big servings! There were so many things on the menu that I didn't have a chance to try but can imagine that they would be just as good. I also had the the Nutella, Hazelnut and PB &J ice cream flavours, all were delish of course. You can tell that this business was built on a love for animals and killing the misconception that vegan ice cream isn't as good as dairy.

Pros: Amazing ice cream, friendly staff, right near the beach

Cons: didn't get to eat everything on the menu

Top notch vegan Italian food - Edit

Brownice is by far one of my favourite places to bring non vegans. The have a wide selection of thin crust pizza, pasta, and many ice cream flavours. They also have risotto, brownies, and waffles! The food is all prepared and presented very well.

The ice cream is low fat and made from brown rice milk but they certainly don't compromise on taste and texture. I have yet to have had a negative experience after dining there multiple times. Others seem to like Brownice too as they were pretty crowded when I was there on a weekday night.

I highly recommend the bbq chicken pizza, lasagna, ice cream, and waffles.

The Worst Dinning Experience in Singapore - ever! - Edit

Anyone writing a review of any reasonable substance proclaiming this to be a restaurant of quality and integrity obviously has a commercial interest in the establishment.

Our night started with a reasonable expectation based on previous reviews and quickly went down an irreversible slippery slope. The food was less than impressive however it was the time taken to deliver it. 1 hr from initial order - for the first dish! Then another 45 minutes for the final. We had to self collect from the kitchen as the teenage waitress was busy treating her friends to an ice-cream tasting buffet. The 3 tables of customers were virtually ignored.
After the cook (there was 1 only) rang the bell repeatedly we were forced to collect our plates - on no less than 3 occasions. The food was uninspiring however for the sake of congeniality I'll leave it at that. How does it take 1.45mins to serve 3 tables even with 1 cook, total of 9 customers. Shambles. Do yourself a favor and those of us who had to fork out good money and close your doors. You are clearly not interested in creating any legacy of any note.
Goodnight and goodbye!

Pros: East Coast Road, None, None

Cons: Time it takes to deliver a meal, 'Self-Service' - go to the Kitchen and self collec, Wait Staff - you'll be waiting forever

...and on the 8th day God created Brownice! - Edit

Believe the hype and the reviews below, Brownice is amazing and is a definite must for any Italian cruisine lover, especially if you're vegan like us. Not the easiest place to get too but well worth it. We decided to get a taxi from outside dakota mrt for just 4sg, as it's about a 30 minute walk otherwise and hailed a taxi back for about 7sg. Once there we ordered the arancini, lasagne and four seasons pizza to share with hazelnut soya shake and citrus chinotto drinks. The arancini was amazing and included cheese inside the risotto balls! The lasagne was so rich in flavour, we decided to have it with the garlic and onions included. The pizza had a nice thin base and included the toppings of artichoke, ham, olives, truffle mushroom, sundried tomato, tomato that were delicious. For dessert and what made us award 5 stars, was the vegan ice cream. I got a triple scoop of coconut, mint and pistachio for just 8sg. The portion was massive but I managed to finish it, whilst my wife got the warm walnut fudge brownie with peanut butter and chocolate ice cream also for 8sg. My wife says the hazelnut shake and brownie are the best she has tasted anywhere. In total we spent about 76sg, which is next to nothing really compared to the UK. We also visited again on our last day this time getting the BBQ pizza and the creamy mushroom penne, which were both absolutely delicious and a bit more vegan ice cream for dessert. In summary I cannot recommend this place enough.

Pros: Fantastic food and vegan ice cream!, Cheap, Friendly staff

delicious vegan ice cream - Edit

we went there after lunch at loving hut and can only comment on the ice cream: maoshanwang (durian) and strawberry. the durian ice cream was delicious and generous with durian bits - can't believe there's no dairy, as it was really rich and creamy. my mum enjoyed her strawberry ice cream (more sorbet-style), but i felt it could have been a bit more finely shaved.

the male staff (boss?) was friendly and we sampled several flavours before deciding on what to order.

Pros: delicious, vegan, dairy-free, friendly staff

Phenomenal!! - Edit

I've been to lots of vegan restaurants around the world. But my comfort food of Italian cuisine was never a possibility as I couldn't find any vegan restaurants attempting it. I walked by a signboard for vegan ice cream made of brown rice in Singapore and my jaw dropped when I saw a vegan Italian restaurant was attached. In Singapore!! I've tried a lot of dishes and everything was fantastic. Unfortunately I don't live in Singapore. My trip is winding down but I'll attempt to come here every day before I leave. I highly recommend the arancini, the lasagna and the pizza. I had to keep reminding my non-vegan friends that they were eating vegan cheese. Do make the trek from wherever you are in the city.

Pros: Super staff, Great value, Location might be inconvenient for some

Cons: None

Top of my List - Edit

This is a fantastic restaurant! I've eaten here twice on my recent trips to Singapore, and am so happy to have superbly delicious vegan food nearby. Worth a trip across the city for the lasagna, pizza, and the fantastic desserts-I had the big waffle with ice cream both times. Non-vegans will love the genuine Italian cuisine. Owners are very nice and dedicated vegans.
