Excellent Vegan Food

Not been here for over twenty five years as they never had vegan options before. The red pepper soup of the day was vegan so we ordered that, mushroom on sourdough, mushroom bourgignon pie and beetroot burger and side of broccoli. We did some research prior to our visit so knew which wines were vegan so ordered the organic Verdejo clearly labelled vegan on the bottle...Could not fault a thing, the food was delicious, hearty and satisfying and the wine was lovely. Too full for dessert but maybe next time.

Its lovely inside too, has a big dining room and beer garden, vegan food was fabulous and great service.

Nice place

Only a couple of vegan options. We both had the Mushroom Pie and it was delicious, served with mash instead of crushed new potatoes, also had some grilled broccoli in lemon and almonds. Service was good but took a little too long after getting the dessert menu so we didn't bother in the end. They also had a no alcohol beer on tap which was a nice change. 8/10.

Pros: Great pie, Lovely pub, Service (lady)

Beautiful homemade meals in this traditional inn

I can recommend the newly reopened Brown Cow in Chatburn for a delicious wild mushroom bourguignon pie with salted new potatoes and heritage carrots. Newly renovated and with a gorgeous interior and beer garden, they have a few vegan options.
