Order is never right-many tries - Edit
I am coming back to update this again… the incorrect ordering is still happening! Though they were accommodating and sent new pizza when we ordered delivery, everyone else had already eaten by the time we got ours. (Actually, the rest of my family ordered from a different pizza place bc they don’t like brothers that much, and it came after our original order.) I want to be clear that our order is always simple and always the same: vegan pie w broccoli and garlic. I know broccoli is often white so maybe that’s why the mistake always happens, but we never get sauce. It’s the only pizza option with vegan close to the area though. I think next time they’re ordering pizza we’ll just bring our own food.

I have tried vegan pizza at this place probably 10 times. I have YET to get a pizza that's actually the way I ordered it. It's become a running joke when we visit my in-laws and order it.
If you can get past that, it's fine! The last one I got a was a white pie with broccoli and garlic, light cheese. It was really good so it will be my go-to. (Though the one I ordered was supposed to have sauce.)

Great vegan pizza - Edit
The staff and management at Brother’s pizza is very helpful and understanding. They can make any of their pizzas vegan by substituting vegan cheese (no hidden non-vegan items in their dough or sauce). The pizza is really good thin crust.

I ordered the pizza with vio life cheese (my favorite) and some olives, spinach, and sundried tomatoes!Definitely recommend trying it! AND their garlic knots were vegan and SO good!!!

Read moreWe ordered a large violife pizza with diced tomatoes, broccoli, and spinach, and a calzone. It was DELICIOUS and you could taste the freshness of all the ingredients. Another member of our party ordered one of the vegan pastas (sans fresh mozz) and is praising it highly.

hold the Violife cheese - Edit
Visiting Trenton for the day (don't ask!), before heading home to CT I did not want to get stuck in (nor add to) rush hour traffic in NYC, so we holed up for dinner at Brother's Pizza with its promise of vegan cheese pizza. Our party of 3 consisted of 1 vegan, 1 vegetarian, and 1 carnivore, so Brother's seemed like a good choice to make everyone happy.
Read moreAs a vegan since 1970 who prefers to eat nuts raw, I have never developed much appreciation for the ever expanding variety of fake cheeses that continue to be introduced into the marketplace. But I do enjoy a vegan cheese pizza occasionally as part of the festivity of eating out. Yesterday was not one of those occasions.
The Violife vegan cheese was just a pool of liquid coconut oil floating on the white flour crust. Violife promotes itself with the hype that it melts. ("Melts GREAT!") It instead should aspire to "TASTE great!" Its ingredients are just coconut oil and starch. Might as well use straight coconut oil, which surely is cheaper.
While I am knocking Violife cheese, I do not mean to knock Brother's Pizza. Brothers is a very welcoming, very accommodating, and very inexpensive fast-food eatery. If they simply switched to some other brand of vegan cheese, Brothers would substantially improve its vegan pizza. Until they do, I recommend that you smother the tasteless pizza in oregano from the shaker that is provided without your even requesting it.
On the subject of making special requests, they were very accommodating about mixing-and-matching the cheeses, so that the carnivore among us was able to have cow cheese on two of the slices of the pie. Also, some pizza shops will charge extra for the vegan cheese, but not here.
The option of vegan cheese appears neither on the printed menu nor the online menu. Our waitress said they only recently added that option, which may suggest they are still in the decision-making stage about the vegan cheese. So you Trentonians may want to pipe up and recommend to them so other brand of vegan cheese. And when you do so, mention to them that mine is not the only review on Happy Cow dissatisfied with Violife vegan cheese.

So happy to see a pizza place using violife instead of daiya! The staff was super nice and helpful and willing to modify whatever they could to make it vegan. I got a pie with sauce, violife, garlic and broccoli and it was really good. Will def be ordering here for pizza night.

Rare find for vegans: Italian place with vegan options! - Edit
Casual Italian pizza and pasta place with several vegan options and very friendly and accomodating waitstaff and owners. Pleasant vintage-style pizzaria and generous portions. Flavors were typical of your average inexpensive pizza joint-so for my tastebuds its bland and unsatisfying but next time I will request garlic and basil and see if that helps. I truly appreciate their efforts to accomodate vegans and have found every other similar place uses pasta made with eggs so it was great getting a mountain of spaghetti noodles!

I still remember the first time I tried daiya cheese. I worked at a pizza place and they made a test pizza with it using way too much. I thought it tasted like Swiss. Then I quickly learned to like that gluey stuff. Now daiya changed the formula again and it's bland. Violife is taking over, and I just can't get into it. Maybe it's closer to real mozzarella but the flavor and texture kind of weird me out to the point I actually threw away 2 slices, something I would never do to pizza.
Still, I appreciate that brother's carries vegan cheese now. I'd always get cheeseless pizza here, which is okay, but the sauce isn't the best and they put an excess amount of a gross herb on their pizza (it isn't Italian oregano). They even have a cheeseless pizza on the menu - the Antimo's special (I'd get it with no onions). The crust at brother's is one of the best.
The Brooklyn with vegan cheese is a very attractive pizza, but I decided I don't like violife after ordering this pie twice. Their chunky sauce also isn't great though not terrible, which probably has to do with the brand of tomatoes they use I'm guessing. It isn't the tasty sweet tomato pie sauce of Trenton tomato-pierias.
Brother's is an old-school no frills pizzeria with hard booths close to each other in an open dining room. Childhood memories.

Brother's Pizza is regarded by many as the absolute best pizza place in the area. The addition of Violife cheese makes this the ONLY pizza place we go to anymore -- even though it's not particularly nearby!

Calzone was awesome! I really appreciate having options at a more traditional Italian place. While I did love the garlic option, it makes the calzone much more greasy, I prefer getting their calzones without garlic.
