Incredibly vegan friendly - Edit
They have a really diverse menu, and the food is incredible. There are quite a few of their menu items that they can prepare vegan. I could be wrong, but I believe they even use separate equipment to prepare vegan dishes.

Full separate vegan menu with several choices. Lots of ways to customize a burger. Had a bomb veggie burger topped with oodles of awesomeness and was pleasantly surprised at how good everything was. Would do business with again.

Damn good! - Edit
Almost everything on the menu they were able to make vegan! I had the veggie burger and brussel sprouts side, was super great, wish I had more time here to try more. So cool, just like sports bar atmosphere with this killer vegan menu. What a surprise.

If you are stuck downtown, definitely consider this option. - Edit
As a vegan who found myself stuck downtown with seemingly few good options for dinner, this place was a welcome find. My vegan burger was very tasty, if not exactly a healthy meal. (More about my meal in a moment.)
Read moreWith a dozen TVs on the walls, tuned to basketball, baseball, and a monster-truck contest, the place has the vibe of a sports bar. At least the volume was turned down, so the only noise was the chattering of the diners. But there were quite a few diners on a Saturday night. There was a 35-minute wait for a table, or immediate seating at the large bar.
I ordered a vegan burger with a side of sweet-potato fries. While the meal was very tasty, I was concerned that it was not very healthy. I would guess I ingested a week's worth of salt, a week's worth of fat, and a week's worth of calories. And this despite my asking for no cheese or dressing. I asked for no pickles, but my burger came with pickles.
When I ran out of ketchup, I caught a server's attention and he said he would bring me more. He didn't. I had to ask a second server, who did.
Oddly, for Albuquerque, I noticed that the front-of-the-house staff seemed to be entirely devoid of Hispanics, with the possible exception of a very heavily tattooed bartender. Patrons offered a slightly more mixed demographic.
The worst thing about this place, is also the best thing: Its location. It is at the epicenter of inner-city Albuquerque, a sketchy area that can at times seem like something out of Mad Max or Bladerunner. I can't imagine many who live in the suburbs who would venture downtown to eat here. But if you find yourself stuck in Mad Max Land, this place offers a refuge that seems reasonably safe. But unless you are trying to give yourself a heart attack, don't eat too much here, or too often.

Lots of great options. I had the salt and pepper portobello wings, the vegan sliders with chili cheese fries, and topped it all off with a hot whiskey brownie nut sundae.

Entire menu can be vegan - Edit
Almost EVERYTHING on the menu can be made vegan and gluten free. Vegan burger patties are made in house and they use little to no tofu as vegan filler for other menu items. I was really impressed with their selection and quality!

One of my favorites - Edit
Almost all items on the menu can be made vegan. So far we’ve tried the broken tacos, enchiladas, 66 crunch burger and the “meat”loaf. All were amazingly delicious and I can’t wait to go back! For dessert, they have a hot whiskey brownie and berries & limoncello cream that can be made vegan.

Great Vegan Food - Edit
If you are in Albuquerque you must go to this restaurant. While I might prefer a restaurant that is exclusively vegan, for a restaurant that is vegan friendly, this one is the real deal.
Read moreTheir menu was amazing. It had so many choices, from traditional entrees to handheld sandwiches and salads, Southwestern dishes, and lots of sides and appetizers to choose from. I will disagree with another poster who classified this as fine dining. To me it felt much more like a casual restaurant and bistro with a bar and great food!
Electronic tablet menus were not just coded as to which items could be made vegan (the majority of them) but it also gave you a detailed description of how they would modify the original dish to veganize it. The vegan food here was definitely not an afterthought but a well thought-out and intentional menu category including their own homemade vegan cheese sauces.
When the food came we were blown away. It was delicious! Things that don't normally excite me like a vegan loaf with gravy were incredibly good. The onion rings were the best I've ever had, the nachos were delicious. Everything had rich flavors and great spices.
The staff could not have been nicer. They were very attentive to us and overly apologetic when it took awhile for the food to come out, which was no problem for us. We weren't in a rush and they told us when we sat down that the vegan food takes a little longer to prepare. All in all, we loved this place.

Yesss! - Edit
Casual atmosphere, beautiful building and decor, with fine dining quality food and cocktails! The menu states how to veganize, vegetarianize, and gluten-freeize almost all dishes! Most vegan modifications are also gluten free! Veggie patty and crumbles made in house with roasted tofu, black beans, mushrooms, carrots and onions (SO GOOD!!) All sides are vegan too! (Minus parmesan on the kettle chips) Vegan desserts to come! Definitely a place to visit and bring friends and family of all dietary dispositions!

Wonderful! - Edit
Brixens looked great based on the other reviews, but their website just hints that many things can be made vegan. We decided to check it out, and were not disappointed. They do have many options that can be made vegan, and they have a very nice vegan cheese. They do tend to use the same basic vegan stuff on every dish when swapping, but the seasoning makes a difference. We ordered the broken tacos (the cheese was white chunks that in the taco context, were reminiscent of queso fresco, the vegan mix seemed seasoned for tacos), the NM Panini (same cheese, but melted, same vegan mix, but not seasoned for tacos), and the Chicken Artichoke (same cheese, same vegan mix). I missed the description of the vegan mix (black beans, mushroom, something else?), so those with allergies should ask. Everything was delicious. The menu is on tablets, and when you click on an item, you can see more detail about how they veganize it. They also have board games and cocktails. We will certainly be back. This is a great option for when you (as the vegan) get tasked with finding a restaurant where you can eat something, but where others will get to eat "normal" things.
Read moreI wish they offered vegan desserts! We thought they did, but either they changed the menu or we misread. They did have a vegan sorbet on hand, but the ice cream sandwich and apple fritters were not listed as vegan on the menu this time.

There were SO MANY vegan options that we decided to just start with appetizers this time. The service was phenomenal ~ their vegan options aren't just an after thought but thoughtful creative dishes made with love. LOVED everything about my dining experience at Brixens, and I'm looking forward to my next visit and working my way through the menu. I'd give them ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐if I could!
