Few vegan options but they are high quality

It’s worth stopping in for lunch or snack because the atmosphere is warm, cozy, personable, and it’s all local products. The one vegan sandwich was unavailable but that’s because the chef had just finished cooking 200 meals for a charity and therefore wasn’t able to make a fresh batch of hummus. No worries as there were 4 vegan options in the deli case: cranberry cous cous salad, roasted Brussels sprouts, edamame dumplings and peanut noodles. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Store is stocked with gift and art items from local contributors.

Pros: Local, Fresh, Funky atmosphere

Nice find in Bennington, VT

I stumbled upon this place just walking around town looking for a quick bite, after a nearby cafe struck out in the vegan department. I had a large bowl of white bean/ spinach/tomato soup which was excellent and only cost $4.35! There were three vegan salads available, and I would have tried them all if I was hungrier. The offerings were an oriental noodle salad, a wild rice salad with walnuts, cranberries, apples and grapes, and a quinoa salad. All looked fresh and tasty. Nice selection of coffees and locally made crafts; the birdhouses were especially well designed. If you need a quick bite as you are passing through Bennington, this would be my first choice recommendation. They also show free, classic movies outdoors against a brick wall over the summer.

Pros: Friendly staff., Reasonable prices., Several vegan options.

Cons: Outdoor seating on potentially busy street., Limited inside seating, not great for large gro
