Cozy reading spot + good vegan options - Edit
I usually have their dark roast coffee. Oat and soy milk available.
Read moreThe banana chocolate chip and apple cranberry muffins are Vegan Gluten-Free per their website. Both are nice. They have a few other vegan options, which I have yet to try.
The Elgin location is my go-to for early morning reading and afternoon tea. One of the coffee shops with the most seating in Centretown and the staff is always welcoming and kind.

Nice local chain - Edit
I love to support local chains like these. I got a matcha flat white with soy milk since I haven't seen that before and it was nice and mild. They also had a gluten free and vegan apple cranberry oat muffin that was a nice texture and not too sweet at all. Great place to relax in the Byward Market area by the train station.

Decent coffeehouse - Edit
A go-to for years. Great baked goods and lunch selection. Locations can feel a bit run down. Expensive.

Ok - Edit
Flat white was ok, served in a glass instead of a cup which isn’t my favourite. Not the best espresso beans we’ve had, but did have a good kick.

Cons: Although reviews show vegan food, I seen none

Kind of like Starbucks or Second Cups - Edit
Went there on Saturday afternoon for a take away quick lunch. The ambient is like Starbucks, but guess, weekend is always quieter downtown. Wanted to have the sweet potato and quinoa wrap, but it ran out. We had morning breakfast wraps instead (cheese, tomato sauce and egg - 5$, was good). The size was just nice for a child but a bit small for an adult, especially for lunch.

Coffee shop with a few vegan items - Edit
This place is a coffee shop chain similar to Starbucks.
Read moreThey did have a few vegan desserts and a couple of pre-packaged vegan food items. Most of the items were not vegetarian. I had a vegan quinoa kale salad which was good but nothing more. Not really a place I would return to for lunch.
Pros: some vegan items
Cons: coffee shop

Great pastries - Edit
Bridgehead is an Ottawa created coffee chain with the required wifi connections. I have found the furniture to be a bit more worn than in the thrift shop (ugh). Some people complain that the servers have an, "I'm cooler than you," attitude, which isn't bringing them return business. Their product is good. There is always an on site newspaper. Often there is no place to sit.

Cons: Worn out furniture, sometimes no place to sit
