Friendly staff. Relaxed atmosphere. The place can seem a bit unfriendly at first because you have to “wait to be seated”.

Love this cafe! - Edit
I found this cafe on Happy Cow and decided to visit after a trip to the museum. It was busy but we were seated quickly and the service was fab. The vegan donut was to die for and I loved the tiny timer with my tea! A definite recommendation if you're in Edinburgh.

Super smooth nitro cold brew and vegan raspberry crumble dessert available too! Love the atmosphere here, very relaxing to watch the day go by, however there are a lot of people taking up the space to do their work.

Come here for the coffee, don't come if you just want food. The coffee is the best in Edinburgh. The vegan food is great too, but it's limited and sells out during the day. Vegan options including soya milk for hot beverages, soup, salad and sandwiches (until they sell out), vegan cake at the weekend (maybe during the festival too).

Bare concrete walls, simple furniture.
During term time: lots of students and academics. During the festival: festival times. Don't let that put you off though, it's really the best brew in the city!

Best soya mochas and tasty vegan breakfast and lunch options! - Edit
Brew Lab is my favourite cafe for good reason. Not only are their soya mochas to die for, they always have vegan options for breakfast and lunch, and if you're lucky they even have vegan cake. So far I've had avocado toast for breakfast (let them know you want it vegan, they'll skip the cheese) and several veggie-packed baguettes for lunch. The menu changes daily but they always have a selection of vegan soups, salads, and baguettes. Love this place! Just know that it can get rather busy around lunch time so arrive early if you want a good seat.

This is a trendy coffee shop and was filled with people looking thoughtful as they tapped away on their laptop. As far as vegan offerings went it was rather a disappointment. They had soy milk and bananas, and that was it. I asked the staff member serving me about vegan options and she said they used to do vegan cake and wished they would start doing it again. Oh well - the mint tea was fresh tasting.

This is one of those trendy places where people go on a Sunday by themselves to sit with their Mac and a cup of coffee. It’s set in a cute old building with small tables. The vegan baguettes and soup were wonderful, but there were no vegan options for dessert.
