wonderful atmosphere - Edit
I‘m really happy we spontaneously decided to eat here - and - to get a table without reservation!
Read moreIt’s a very special and relaxed atmosphere in this library-art-garden-café-restaurant!
Around half of the menu is vegan.
What I really love and can be found quite often in Italy, is the option for a mixed plate.
You can choose 3 (or more) dishes from the menu.
In this case a salad rice or pasta a (changing) special.
I chose a mixed salad with raw carrot, zucchini and cabbage in a creamy almond-cauliflower sauce, homemade Seitan and tortelloni stuffed with potato-ginger and creamy oriental styled sauce.
Surprising and very tasty!!
My husband liked his vegetarian lasagne (9€) too, but it looked pretty tiny compared to my plate haha.
Friendly and skilled staff.
Had an excellent evening.
Pros: surprising taste, Special ambience
Cons: busy! reservation highly recommended!

Best vegan dinner in Italy! - Edit
It’s very difficult to find interesting vegan food in Italy. This restaurant is tucked into a book store and is easy to walk right past on the street, but it’s a hidden gem! They have a special three course menu for 16 euros which is excellent value and the servings are generous! The menu was very inventive with many vegan choices for each course. We will eat there again before we leave Florence!

Nice quiet oasis - Edit
We were in Florence for a short visit Mid-September before heading off north into the Tuscan mountains for a friend's wedding. After walking around the Boboli gardens and the Forte di Belvedere in the heat, it was so nice to come in here to escape both the hot afternoon and the crowds of tourists. I love the space of this restaurant. In the front you can come in for a quick coffee and dessert, or have a full meal in the restaurant beyond the courtyard(where you can also sit for a coffee). The food itself was really delicious and creative. The €15 plate(choice of salad, first course, and main) was more than filling for me for lunch(I don't have a small appetite). Definitely would go back if we're ever in Florence again!

Delicious food and creative space - Edit
I got the avocado salad and the sweet potato ravioli. Both were delicious and priced nicely for the quality and presentation of the food. The staff was sweet and helpful. The location was unique as a book store / restaurant combo. I really enjoyed eating here. The only thing I would of done different was requested to sit at the bar at the entrance instead of being seated since I was eating alone and it was a touch awkward for me (not the restaurant's fault at all, just wishing I would of requested the bar area).

Definitely book! We tried to visit on a Saturday night and it was fully booked, so booked for Sunday and it was really busy with great atmosphere. The €15 plate is great value and there are lots of vegan options, all really nice. Also great wine and service. Perfect for a date night.

Post renaissance food fest - Edit
At the end of Uffizi gallery tour, we found our way to the nearby Brac. Head full of renaissance paintings but our belly empty- we craved for food and arrived well before our booking time. And not at all disappointed when we arrived at the place when the host graciously showed us our table. First surprise - water is free. Hurrah - hear that other restaurants? Second- the food was beyond good. It was SUPERBO. We ordered tagliatelle and seitan. And unabashedly shares our plates. I settled for house wine as I had a cold. and my partner gulfed a Campari and then to rub it in a dessert !

Delicious Food and Relaxing Atmosphere - Edit
We turned up here around 9pm hoping they were still serving food and we were not disappointed. There was only space at the bar as we had not made a reservation but that was fine by us. They had at least 4 vegan main options on the menu plus a vegan dessert. We know nothing about wine so they recommended a really lovely red. We enjoyed it the first evening so much, we returned for lunch the next day. The second time we were wise to the 3 item sample menu which is at the very start of the English menu (they have a name for it but I've forgotten what it was) which we missed the previous night, which include a small portion of pasta/rice, salad and baked option and this filled us up. Otherwise you are looking at 8/9 eur for a pasta dish. This is the best vegan food we have had in Italy yet.

Great atmosphere and vegan pasta - Edit
We read so many good reviews about this place and were so happy we weren’t staying too far away. This is a beautiful bookshop that doubles as a fabulous restaurant with two sections and a peaceful courtyard in between. We were seated instantly by our lovely server with short hair. She recommended a fantastic wine paired with my tortellini. My husband had a delicious rum cooler cocktail. I ordered the vegan tortellini (which tasted slightly undercooked, maybe that’s how al dente should be) with a bean, tomato and potato salad (this was a lot of food), and my husband had a 4 cheese pasta with zucchini (can’t remember name).
Read moreVery delicious food and would absolutely go back, maybe even tonight! Must say the bread was a little stale (maybe this is how it’s served in Italy?) and could have been accompanied by some olive oil to dip.
Pros: Lots of vegan options , Excellent food , Very friendly server
Cons: No entrées , Slightly undercooked tortellini , Stale bread

Full of Locals - Edit
this restaurant was full of Italians which is usually a good sign. I loved the concept and the atmosphere here. You can order three portions of different items on the menu for €15 and considering the quality it was good value. We also loved the white wine that was recommended to us we wanted something local and the white we had perhaps went down a little too smoothly.

A perfect mea - Edit
This was one of my favourite meals of the holiday. Most of the menu is vegan, and you can choose a salad, pasta and baked dish for €15. The quality was incredible and I just wish I could eat it all over again. I had avocado salad, potato and ginger tortelloni and baked flat bread with sweet potato and peanut sauce. Cool place set in a library of contemporary art
