Vegan???

If you are in downtown Arlington and walking off the beaten path, there are a few options that seem to have some vegan appeal. This place seems to be one of them. However, be warned that this place prides itself on using fresh ingredients, fresh preparation and gluten-free everything, but nowhere does it use the word vegetarian or vegan. Thus, if it is veg*n, it is a coincidence.

For the pre-made bowls, there is one that has cheese and one has tofu, the others have meat. If you try to get one of the others without meat, you can do it, but they will not offer for you to sub in tofu. For the make-your-own bowls, you pay for protein, base and 3 vegetables. At the prices they offer, you would expect that there would be a huge amount of food, like at some other salad places. Nope. The portions are a small soup-sized bowl.

The food does not taste healthful, but rather, it tastes high in salt. The good vegetables that are most healthful are in small quantities. Most of the ingredients are not organic. The smoothies have soy and almond milk, but they are Silk brand, not organic.

For the prices here, I would hope for either the menu being organic or having large portions. Neither of those is true, making Bowl'd an unhappy choice for the price and quality. Do yourself a favor, and literally, right across the street, go to the juice cafe - although smaller, it is far more popular, and it is obvious to me why it is more popular.

Pros: Pick your own ingredient bowls, Quinoa; soy milk and almond milk

Cons: Price, "Vegan" is confusing to the staff., Not organic

An option

I'm sorry but my experience was closer to 2 than to 3 stars but I'm sure that they will get better.
Açai bowl was plain, smoothie was similar and so was the soup.

Great Food!

Very vegan friendly. You can make a bowl how ever you like which is hard to find these days and with lots of veggies. They also have organic tofu you can add.

I got organic quinoa with broccoli, mushrooms, and baby corn and sun dried tomato-olive sauce. Very delicious and hardy. I also had the new lentil soup which was very tasty, I want it right now just typing about it. The smoothies are a refreshing and healthful treat as well! Convenient, fast food, but healthy and delicious at the same time. Will definitely be going back.

Pros: Veggies!, Delicious Sauces, Great Service

Hi Marvin,

Really sorry to hear you were disappointed with our food. We always aim to impress our guests with the food and the value. We have quite a few vegan options and we are adding more to our menu everyday. Would you mind sharing which menu items you tried so we can try to correct it for the future? We are new restaurateurs and really want to provide healthier options for all types of healthier eaters. For vegans we want to provide healthy, affordable and quick options that go beyond just salad, fried falafel (we don't deep fry anything) or fruit smoothies that tend to be really high in natural sugar.

Thanks in advance,

Allen R, Owner (Manager@eatbowld.com)
