What a beautiful location—so unexpected. We were really blown away by the view and the very kind staff.
Giving this review from the perspective of two vegan diners, so heads up. There are 5 options that can be made vegan on the menu (including bread), so they will accommodate. This is framed as a fine dining experience, and so while I understand variations to the original balanced dishes is probably not in the interest of the kitchen—giving this review anyway as there are limited options for plant-based diners on the island.
We had bread, green salad and strawberry/tomato salad to start. Strawberry/tomato salad held up under alterations to make it vegan, the green salad was a bit sad.
Had zucchini and chickpea for main. The Zucchini was one of the only options that could be altered, and it was… five sad pieces of zucchini. The chickpea dish had some good flavour even after vegan ammendments.
Once we had made our way through all of the above, waiting staff didn’t really know what to do with us as we had cleared through all options on menu, so we swiftly left.
All in all, breathtaking location, beautifully designed restaurant, wonderful staff, but for vegans—go elsewhere (and I’m sure they’d be happy if you did). It ended up quite expensive after having eaten very very little, and the lovely staff were unsure what to do with us. While it may be unfair to judge the restaurant on the terms we set—as it is fine dining—just a heads up to all fellow plant-based travellers out there.
