Vegetarian friendly - Edit

Ate here in Feb 2012. Was despairing of limited veg options in Khao lak and was pleased to see a non-veg place with a veg section in the menu. Food was delicious- veg green curry, tofu with cashews. Small place but friendly service. Highly recommended- ate there twice-wasn't disappointed!

Pros: Specific dietary needs catered for, delicious, consistent

Cons: if full, food may take long

A pleasure for vegans,too - Edit

Small, essentially non-veg restaurant near the Book Tree bookstore in Khao Lak, that also offers a good selection of vegetarian or vegan dishes. The owner/chef is very friendly and speaks English fluently. He is really flexible and will gladly cater for special needs and wishes, too. Good food in healthy portions. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Pros: Good selection of veg and vegan options, Attentive and friendly staff, Authentic Thai cooking

Cons: Not easy to find

Spicy goodness! - Edit

So yummy, we ate here twice! You'll probably eat outside, so remember to slather on the bug juice before you go . . . then relax and enjoy their happy garden and delightful company!

Pros: friendly, English speaking, good value

we had lunch here, the owner of the boonyarit kitchen was super nice. has a seperate veg menu, maily tofu and veg dishes.
the food was okay and the service was great. has about twelve options.
food was about 2-3 gbp per meal. the veg was really fresh, an we had a look in the kitchen, which was spotless. it's a good option in khao lak!

Friendliest Free Thai VEGAN cooking class - Edit

My husband and I were staying at a hotel about 15 minutes out of Khao Lak for our honeymoon. We stumbled across Aek & Meaw by accident, but were SO glad we did. They are such lovely, welcoming, open people and they were completing accommodating of our dietary needs (1 vegan & 1 vegetarian). When they offered a FREE cooking class (we just paid for what we ate), I was thrilled - Kun Aek's Thai Green Curry and Pad Thai were the best we had in Thailand and we loved learning from such a master. We went back to eat at Boonyarit Kitchen several times during our week in the area and can honestly say I am a total RAVING FAN!!!

Pros: Friendly Local Couple, Vegan-Friendly, Free Cooking Class

Cons: Serves Meat
