Truly one of the best eateries I've ever been to and it happens to have a fantastic vegan menu. The vada pav are astonishingly good and I'm looking forward to trying the rest menu! What to choose though?!
We were so happy that we found Boom. We diverted on our trip further north in the hope that it was as good as it looked. We weren't disappointed. It is such a little gem of a place with many surprising dishes that you do not often see on Indian restaurant menus outside of the big cities, and a few that we have never seen on any in the UK. Most of the all vegetarian menu is vegan and the owners are working towards making it all vegan. It was all delicious (and we tried as much as we could fit in!). Importantly it was not oily or greasy as in some Indian places. It is an eat in (there are three tables) or take away place but we loved being able to eat in and chat freely with the lovely couple who own and run Boom. They were great at recommending dishes too, all of which we loved. The pricing of the menu was just so reasonable too, making it accessible to all without compromise on choice or flavour. We will definitely be back and are actually sad that they are not closer to us in Cornwall!
All our favourite Indian dishes on one menu! Admittedly, the southern Indian stuff - dosas, iddlies, vadas and the like - are apparently "unavailable till next month" (October 2025), but that's just an excuse to come back in a month's time. We both had a thali (three curries, roti or puri, rice, raita, gulab jamun) and chose three different curries each, so we got to sample six curries in all. All were lush. What a find!
