So many options and very affordable - Edit

The restaurant itself was very clean and seemed to attract the locals. The menu was extensive with almost too many options! We ordered 7 dishes between two as we couldn't narrow down what we wanted.

The portions ended up being really big and so yummy. We didn't finish the meal as our eyes are probably bigger than our bellies!

Really flavourful and highly recommend!

Pros: Lots of options , Huge portions , Full of flavour

Cons: Didn't have one option we asked for

Huge selection, decent price - Edit

Tons of veggie and vegan options with pictures giving you a clear idea what you'll be getting. We were a party of 3 who had appetisers and mains and shared everything. We struggled to decide as there was so much choice. Quick service and very reasonable prices. Highly recommend!

Fine dining at a reasonable price - Edit

Posh restaurant on 1st floor of building, slightly hard to find but there are signs outside. Extensive menu with lots of appetisers and mains. My first choice for appetiser: veggie pate was not available so had the Taro rice balls-which were okay but quite dry. We also ordered a mushroom dish with rice crackers which was delish. . For mains we had Seitan with chilli , and aubergine (eggplant) hotpot. Both were good but there was way too much Seitan for me! Good value for money for nice restaurant, but pricier than most local places in Saigon.

Pros: Fine dining, Huge choice of menu in English, English spoken

Cons: Large portions

Lots of choices - Edit

The menu is extensive, staff told us everything is vegan on menu. The serving sizes are quite generous so best to go with group to try few dishes. Good service and nice drinks, a couple of the dishes were hit and miss (fried spring rolls and curry) but overall very good food and very tasty food. You will be spoilt for choice here. Its not as cheap as some of the other places around Saigon but it is a proper restaurant and not expensive by any stretch.

Pros: Extensive menu, Clean , Great service

Favourite Saigon Vegan - Edit

The food at Bong Sung is fresh, delicious and generous. Consistently excellent food and drinks, lovely setting. Great opportunity to eat vegan options of Vietnamese dishes that are not accessible to vegetarians/ vegans. The use of mushrooom and tofu is so delicious. Minimal amounts of wheat or gluten substitutes used. Favourite dishes are the Mi Quang noodles and the mushroom/ herb appetiser dish with the rice cracker, there is a photo on the menu and it is one of the most ordered dishes on the menu. Great atmosphere and really friendly service, this is one of my very favourite places to eat 💙

Pros: All vegan, Generous portions and great setting, Delicious flavours

Lots of choice but a bit pricier than usual - Edit

Some lovely flavours and great vegan options. Had a lovey last supper in Vietnam here. Drinks were great, curry could have been better with rice not bread. Pho was good but fresh rolls let it down. Staff were friendly.

Nice menu and good food - Edit

A large English menu with good variety and pictures of most dishes.
Food and service were good and we enjoyed our meal. Good modern feel at a true sit down restaurant, but items are priced higher than other places.

Pros: accurate english with pictures

Cons: exoensive relative to other places

Nice atmosphere and delicious food. This is an upper scale restaurant but the quality is worth it! Portion was big. I got the vegetarian curry (90,000) it was absolutely delicious! Big menu with lots of exciting items

Flavor galore in Eggplant dish - Edit

The eggplant ginger was amazing. We paired it with the Amazing 8 rice, or maybe it was Amazing 7. Whichever, together this was delicious. The passion fruit soda wasn’t very flavorful. The service was fine. They had WiFi!

Pros: Delicious , English menu, Beautiful scenery on outside balcony

Cons: Charged for napkins

Lemongrass yaaaas - Edit

Came twice while in Saigon. Loved it both times. We had absolute feasts each time and enjoyed everything. My favourite dish was rice paper rolls. The lemongrass mushroom soup was excellent. No complaints.

Pros: Great food, Nice decor and atmosphere

Rushed... - Edit

We arrived to eat here at around 9:05pm. The restaurant closes at 10am. When we arrived we were seated on the balcony outside which was pleasant. We were provided with menus and literally had someone hover over us whilst we went through the menu to decide what to eat as they were apparently closing the kitchen, even though it was an hour before closing time and they’d accepted us as guests to eat. All food was brought out together, despite the fact that we chose entrees and mains. We were served cold tea and weren’t given a chance to order other drinks as they were so keen to remove the menus. At 9:55, we were still eating but were approached with the bill and told, we had to leave as they needed to close at 10. So we ended up having to ask for food in plastic containers. Really disappointing service. If you had to close that quickly, it would be suggested next time to simply not take customers.

Pros: Food seemed nice enough albeit rushed to eat .

Cons: Made to feel unwelcome , Staff hovering over us

Very pleased - Edit

We just found it wandering around the Post Office. Already a favourite in my account. Great service, huge variety and a true delight for vegans/vegetarians. Slightly more expensive that one might be accustomed to in Vietnam though definitely worth it. Probably the cleanest toilets I have seen in our whole trip too. Their homemade sodas are superb and the curry, albeit not spicy, had the perfect mix of spices and flavour. Also served with bread, for all those afraid of rice. We also had some seitan anda also think it’s terrific.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Many dishes and variety , Relax atmosphere

Cons: A bit hidden

Sensational - Edit

This was one of my favourite places to eat whilst in HCMC. Absolutely delicious!!

We had heaps of food. (Don’t judge us)
Rice spring rolls
Vegan pate
Pineapple rice
Shredded mushrooms in coconut milk
Eggplant in ginger

And each dish was truly delicious!

I can not recommend this place enough!!

Pros: Heaps of choice, Amazing taste , Vegan

Cons: We are too much - purely self inflicted

Tuscany style - Edit

Very good service, the best so far, extremely attentive although since we had two waiters, 2 of our sides were forgotten but appeared on the check. The menu is very extensive so I don’t exactly remember what we had..oyster mushrooms were amazing, everything was. And the food was presented nicely. Definitely sit outside at night, looks like an Italian restaurant there.

Pros: huge menu, very tasty, good service

Cons: forgot 2 side dishes

Expensive but Decent - Edit

It was good but in not sure if it warranted the prices they are charging.

However the atmosphere was nice and given how polished the experience is, it's worth the money.

I had the vegetarian stew with bread on the side. It was nice but that was a pretty safe option so no surprises there.

Not bad, worth a try if you're in the area about 5-6USD a meal

Good food and atmosphere but pricey - Edit

Nice restaurant with a big choice of vegan dishes located on the first floor with outside sitting. Nice atmosphere but the elegant atmosphere got its price: Mains starting at 79k Dong not including rice.

Pros: Broad choice, good taste, atmosphere

Cons: Rather pricey

Quirky venue, great food - Edit

Set upstairs in a converted house, the seating is arranged over several rooms and an outdoor balcony with fans. The crispy fried taro balls were different and not bad, the curry was fantastic and the pulled jackfruit was cooked exceptionally well but was a little sweet for my liking. Prices were on the higher end of average but I think justified. Highly recommend this place.

Pros: Great food, Reasonable price, Beautiful setting

Too expensive for what you get! - Edit

I got a pineapple juice (which was very small) and the worst spring rolls ever. It smelled like fried mashed potateos. The location is nice but way too expensive. You get much more at the restaurant "Phuc Quang Chay"!

Pros: location

Cons: food, price
