Everything at Bonboon is wonderful. You can opt for five or four courses (and choose which one you skip) and optionally have a wine or tea pairing. The dishes are usually fantastic (creative, tasty, beautifully presented) and the wines too. Service is excellent.

What I experienced in this vegan restaurant is great food and friendly service. In enjoyed 3-course meal deal with their wine suggestions (great option). This place is cosy and I felt welcomed there. What I would do differently is putting away that tacky bean art painting and printed out animal stock photos on the wall, doesnt go together with rest of the vibe and "restaurant" image in my opinion. This place has a great potential, I will come here again.

There are lots of great vegan junk food places in Amsterdam. This isn't one of them. Its the sort of place to go for a special occasion. The food allows the vegetables to take centre stage and if they are fresh, cooked properly and with a bit of imagination will always beat processed stuff hands down. we had the asparagus, which was lovely, but the oyster mushrooms and grilled tofu were amazing. the tofu had a real taste of egg. If your in Amsterdam its well worth a visit.

Samen met een vriendin (niet vegan) heb ik bij Bonboon een 3-gangen diner gegeten. Zowel voor-, hoofd- en nagerecht waren heerlijk. We hebben er allebei erg van genoten, en zouden heel graag snel weer terug komen. De prijs-kwaliteit verhouding vind ik uitstekend. Op de foto's zie je onze gangen, het smaakte minstens zo goed als het eruit ziet! Eerlijk waar alleen maar lof voor Bonboon. Zeker de moeite waard!

Probably the best vegan dining option in Amsterdam - Edit
One of the few vegan places in Amsterdam where you can really take the time to enjoy a nice, high quality dinner. This was very much needed in addition to the many vegan fast-food places that were opened in the last years. The dishes are really tasty, often surprising and well-balanced. The owner is very friendly and enthusiastic. I think the pricing is very reasonable, considering the quality of both the dishes and the ingredients used.

IMHO with these prices food could be a bit more delicious.
Recommend to visit if you’re tired of regular vegan meals served everywhere but also if you aren’t really hungry and aren’t afraid of their prices haha.

Went there in March 2019. I went there because I stayed near this place (a quite remote area from the City Centre) and it was open on Sunday night, and I'm glad I did. I had the plate of lima beans with smoked paprika, freekeh, fennel salad, quince, alioli, smoked tempeh and gondino (19€!) for main course, and the tiramisu for dessert (8.5€). All was very good, and the staff was very friendly despite the weird atmosphere (there was nobody else in the restaurant). But damn it was expensive! I'm all for paying the right price for good ingredients and making sure workers get a decent wage, but I sure couldn't afford this kind of restaurant every month. So, if you're in Amsterdam, and want good food without having to save money, go for it!

Wat een feest is het om te eten bij Bonboon! Elk gerecht is verrassend en met zoveel liefde en kennis voor het vegan kookvak gemaakt. Heerlijke smaken en mooi opgemaakt. Daarbij ook nog eens hele fijne wijnsuggesties per gang (tongstrelende rode wijn gedronken) en tot slot een gepassioneerde eigenaresse met lef die alle aandacht voor je heeft.

Bonboon offers a dining experience not often presented to the vegan: Fine Dining. And is, therein, an absolute treat. A very relaxed atmosphere, wonderfully hospitable owner and cool open kitchen design make for a romantic (in the classical sense [or not!]) evening. The principle seems to be letting the complexity of the flavours of vegetables stand alone. That means no meat imitations, and no meals aspiring to be a stop gap for some carnist desire. Above all, the food was delicious.

I had a wonderful meal here. The beet pear salad on a bed of cashew cheese was a delicious starter to the meal. Then I had the stuffed portobello which was covered with a flaky crust that was savory and satisfying. Finally, the apple crumble was a yummy finish. There was plenty of food and the flavors complemented one another to provide a unique plant-based meal.
I had a nice conversation with the owner and learned a lot about the vegan community in Amsterdam. This made the meal even more special.
I highly recommend Bonboon!
