Great!

'Bombay Velvet' not only serves delicious meals but is one of the few Indian restaurants able to make many of their vegetarian meals, suitable for vegans.

Their service is fast & the family-owned professional business staff could not be more accomodating & friendly.

Their prices are incredibly reasonable & the portions of their traditional foods are on the larger side.

If you live in Mount Beauty, surrounding areas, or are passing by, I would highly recommend paying them a visit for a warming treat as they offer both dine-in & takeaway services!

Pros: Vegan Catering, Vegetarian Options, Friendly Staff

Good food in a peaceful environment

We made a booking, but came in early, just before 6pm and the place was empty. The person serving was friendly, welcoming and very able to advise us on vegan options, of which there were really only a couple. We chose two of the three vegan mains (the ones without pumpkin), the aloo gobhi and the eggplant masala (both $16.50). I was pleasantly surprised to discover both the plain ($4) and garlic ($4.50) naan were vegan, so we ordered these as well as the green pea pulao ($5). The curries were good if not amazing, with the cauliflower dish nice and tangy and the eggplant one pleasantly oily. We ordered medium spiciness level but realised we could’ve eaten hot with no injury. I would’ve liked the option if a more ‘dippy’ dish, such as a dal, for the naan and wonder if they might’ve modified the dal makhani if we’d asked. I enjoyed this place and Mount Beauty was nice and peaceful compared with nearby Bright crawling with holiday makers.

Pros: Good food, Friendly service

Cons: Small range of mains
