Yummy - Edit
Really tasty food and lovely staff. The food isn’t labelled vegan on the menu but they’re happy to make a lot of it vegan on request.

Best restaurant on the island - Edit
Every time I ate at this restaurant, I was thinking this is the best food of my life. It was refreshing to have Indian food after a month in Thailand. We kept going back to the restaurant again and again. The dals were the best I’ve ever tasted- thick, not runny and very flavorful to stand alone. The darker one was almost like a chili in texture, and I loved it so much. The chana masala was so good, and the other veggie paneer (made vegan) was delicious as well. You can’t go wrong. Also the entire staff is very knowledgeable and careful to make dishes vegan for you! Garlic or plain naan can be vegan😄

Amazing Indian Food - Edit
Wow! Absolutely love this place so much. We came here three nights in a row! The family that owns this spot is so kind and helpful. We ordered something new everyday and each time it was so delicious. The staff was so knowledgeable on veganisim and what can be made vegan. We had both of the dals (both so freaking good but the red one is 🔥) one vegetable paneer, and chickpea masala. They are also able to make the naan vegan (plain and garlic!) So happy we went here😄

If I could give this place 5 stars I would. It was phenomenal, the food was to die for and the owners were truly the loveliest people ever. We returned the next night.

Fantastic Indian food - Edit
Curries are excellent. We had the yellow dal, veg kadhaj, and aloo mutter. The samosas, onion bhajis and biriyani are also excellent. Can choose level of spice. The breads are delicious and the lady who makes then is very skilled, you can watch her make it fresh. Also sells roti pancakes for dessert, again freshly made at the store front.

Excellent food and really attentive staff - Edit
We ate here three times during our week on Koh Lipe. The staff were really helpful and told me which dishes were vegan. The girl who makes the delicious naan breads will also make them vegan without the butter if you ask. On the second they accidentally put butter on (my wife ate it) and when they realised the mistake they made me another one and didn't charge for the first.
Read moreOn the second and third visits they also gave us all kinds of free things such as poppadoms with onion and tomato, a dessert and even a full bowl of dal when the waiter saw that I still had naan bread left.
The food is also not that expensive and great value.
Overall I would really recommend this restaurant to anyone staying on Koh Lipe, regardless of their diet.
Pros: Delicious food, Many vegan options, Staff friendly and attentive

Authentic Indian on Koh Lipe - Pleasant Surprise! - Edit
After a disappointing experience with another Indian/Thai combination restaurant on Koh Lipe, we were hesitant to try Bombay. Boy, are we glad we took the chance!
Read moreThe masala tea (chai) is divine, and the naan is the best we have had anywhere in Thailand - probably due to Raj's use of authentic ghee imported from India.
Raj has eight years' experience as a chef in India, including vegetarian restaurants and a four-star hotel. His dedication to good food and good service shines through when you speak to him.
With two pages of vegetarian dishes on the menu, you'll need to stay on Koh Lipe at least a week to sample them all!
Pros: Many vegetarian dishes on menu, Special requests welcome, Excellent quality food
Cons: Vegan dishes not marked as such, Out-of-the-way location, Not all staff speak good English
