Favourite Vegan Dim Sum Spot! - Edit
We stumbled upon this spot on our way to a different spot and so glad we did. We got there on a Sunday just as it opened so was seated right away. We only planned to eat a little bit as we were wandering through the area, so ordered an assortment of dumplings and a rice roll. The food was hot and delicious! I wish I had more time here because I would have gone back to try more of the menu!

We had handmade sweet potato noodles with vegan chicken. Best noodle dish I’ve ever had! And the dim sum are so yummy. I don’t think there’s a bad choice on the menu!

Vegan Dim Sum - Edit
If you enjoy Dim Sum, you do not want to miss this place. The choice is large, the service is fast and friendly, and you can also order main courses and desserts if you feel like it. Everything I tried was flavorful and with a lot of different textures. I strongly recommend.

One of my favorite NYC restaurants - Edit
I grew up in a Taiwanese household, and one of the hardest parts of being vegan has been not eating my childhood favorites. Finding this place has been amazing! Sticky rice in lotus leaves, radish cakes, soup dumplings, taro balls, bbq “pork” buns - this place has so much, and it’s delicious & affordable as well! I typically come here with my partner, and we leave stuffed for under $40 (including tip).

Would not go back - Edit
I'm not sure why this place has such good reviews. When we walked in, I noticed that the restaurant floors were dirty, which didn't bode well for what was to come. When I used the restroom, I noticed that this was also very dirty. There was a large A/C unit blowing from the back of the restaurant, which made it extremely uncomfortable; I was basically freezing the whole time. I ordered "tofu, peppers and eggplant," which I figured was some kind of stir fry dish with rice. When the dish came out, each vegetable was fried in a thick, sweet batter. It was a gross and weird combo with the vegetables. I wound up just picking the vegetables out and eating what I could that way. We also got the vegetable dumplings as an appetizer, and they were very bland. This was sub par food and if you're in NYC there are way better vegan options.

Comida tradicional asiática vegana. Los mejor, sin duda, sus carnes vegetales. El pollo y la carne barbacoa estaban deliciosos. El personal es muy amable y las raciones son muy grandes.

It was okay - Edit
I enjoyed the plethora of options! I was very pleased with that, and tried a variety of items. For reference: Soup dumplings, curry dumplings, veggie bun, pan fried dumplings, spring rolls, sesame chicken, and chicken lo mein.
Read moreAll of the dim sum, to me, lacked flavor. It was good, but I wish the coupling of vegan/vegetarian didn’t frequently walk the line of having an exciting flavor or not. The sesame chicken was the standout dish, and the lo mein was average.
I know having the options is a really good thing. Having a restaurant is an amazing thing. But I don’t think potential visitors should be anticipating a meal that is going to blow their mind. It will be okay.
Pros: options and traditional Americanized Chinese dishes for vegans!
Cons: dim sum lacked flavor and the tea tasted like seaweed vs jasmine.

Regular chinese restaurant quality - Edit
A bit "meh" for me. Maybe I just had a bad luck choosing my dim sums, but I did not found them anything special. Just a regular chinese restaurant for me.
Read moreAlso I wanted to confirm if the restaurant was vegetarian or vegan (as they do not claim "vegan" anywhere in the menu), but the waitress was quite unpleasant and just answered that they didn't served meat, "same as written in the menu". So I really had doubts if it was truly vegan or not..

Absolutely great - Edit
Stumbled over this place basically by accident, didn’t have to think twice and I was right there. The food is decently priced for NY levels and absolutely fantastic and you have so much to decide on! Meet substitutes seem to be relatively natural regarding ingredients and the chicken tastes great!

Dim Sum and Then Sum - Edit
I have been reading about xiao long bao- aka soup dumplings- for a decade. They are usually made with a flavorful broth set with lots of gelatin and chilled; when you put the cold jelly in a dumpling wrapper and steam it, you end up with a dumpling full of piping hot, tasty soup!
Read moreNaturally, these are usually made with animal gelatin and meat broth. But Bodhi gets my undying love for blazing a trail and coming up with this vegan version.
They are indeed scorching hot on the inside; probably best to let them sit for a few minutes before chowing down.
Ambience is nice, waitstaff were great, free tea hit the spot, and my other food (simple fried spring rolls) was also solid. Will 100% be back!
Pros: Lots of dim sum items!, Dishes you can't find anywhere else, Good service
Cons: Bring a friend, dim sum is lonely for one

Not for me - Edit
I super duper don't like the egg issue they had/have. Is this place vegan or not? They say on their website that they save animals lives. Vegan restaurants do that, vegetarian save some animals lives. While they say they aren't using eggs now, that was a rough one for a lot of us. Getting a straight answer from the server with challenging. I will give them better marks for creativity and presentation and lower marks for quality. Wilted lettuce, wonky tomatoes and lots of oil.

Cons: It's not vegan or if it is then it is complicated , food quality

In the beating heart of China Town , wonderful authentic food. We most probably chose too much, as not able to check previous reviews, however didn’t stop us eating all the food! Everything was delicious, photos don’t do the food justice ‘ fish in black bean sauce’ was amazing as was turnip starter.

Amazing vegan Chinese! - Edit
The menu is extensive, we ordered the 'chicken' sweet and sour with fried veggie rice. The main course portions are massive! We got 12 sweet and sour balls for the main and only 3 spring rolls for the starter. The rice portion was massive too. The food was incredible.
