Back On The Chain Gang - Edit
If you come here via metro then as you take exit 7 into the mall, this place is immediately on your left. It's situated in a semi-circular food court in front of the City Super on the 2nd basement floor. We found this place at lunchtime and it was busy which is good as hopefully it means it will stick around. I'd noticed one review saying things were wrongly labelled as vegan (mainly most bread in China has milk in for some unknown reason) but the toast items had stickers over saying lacto/vegetarian where I presume it once said vegan. We shared the spring rolls to start with, I ordered the beetroot croquette burger while my assistant ordered the yellow curry, all vegan dishes. The spring rolls were fresh and tasty with the mango chili dip and a decent portion for two people to share. When the waitress brought my friend's curry, it was then she informed me that my burger wasn't available which not only was disappointing but frustrating as my friend had her lunch while I had to then pick something else and wait for that to be cooked. I tried a beetroot croquette which was delicious if a bit weird to be included in a curry bowl as it didn't quite work, something deep fried and crispy then served in a soupy curry. My rice bowl eventually arrived by which time I was ravenous especially watching my friend eat, it was well cooked, seasoned nicely and the caramelised walnuts were a really nice addition. We shared a portion of banana fritters for dessert, they were very hot, sticky and sweet (would've been perfect paired with a nice soy ice cream) sadly most of the desserts are milk based, more vegan options would be amazing. Apart from the problem with my order I was impressed with this place and look forward to going back to try the burger. They have brunch deals from 10-12 and a member's price but it was all in Chinese so I'm not sure how to join but it's reasonably priced anyway.
Read moreI went back to try the burger, it was a Sunday evening and they had it, I was disappointed though as it was quite greasy, the Jenga root vegetable fries looked better than they tasted, I needed ketchup which I'm not a massive fan of. We also ordered the starter of beetroot croquettes which were well presented but sadly just like the burger, greasy and not that tasty. This place is good if you're in the area but it's not somewhere I'd travel too just for their food.
Returned and had the yellow curry which I really enjoyed.

BMS Organics - Edit
The food was here was fine. I ordered a laksa-like soup and requested no mushrooms and only fried tofu but my soup arrived LOADED WITH MUSHROOMS inside... This really took the joy out of my dish. However, I did really love the tofu and the flavor of the broth was very good. I'd try this place again but there are other places that I liked better in Shanghai.

Tasty food but - Edit
Not all things that are labelled “vegan” are vegan. They list ingredients and more than often “honey” appears when the label says vegan. The peanut butter banana toast is served on bread which clearly was made of either milk or butter. Not sure why it’s so hard for them to label things accurately.

Couldn't agree more but I still think they deserve 5 stars! Some things which are not Vegan are labelled as Vegan but they also list all the ingredients so it's easy to know anyway before you order

a varied menu - Edit
There are many menu items to choose from, most of them are vegan, and all are clearly marked. I've been a few times to more than one location and have tried western dishes and asian dishes. The western ones are fine, but the asian ones are better. Most recently I've had the Malay Yellow Curry and the Thai Green Curry. The veggies are the same, just the sauce is different. Both are good and very filling.
