Bluestem Bar

Love the atmosphere at BlueStem, and glad it's accessible by bike on foot since parking can be tricky in this area. Food is consistently good but it is pricey. So I think of going here for a special occasion, since it is a treat to come here. I always try to save some space for the cakes/desserts, which you can preview at the counter at connected French Meadow Bakery. I am a fan of French Meadow and hope to remain a patron.

Fantastic, fresh, from scratch omnivorous restaurant with many vegan dishes, labeled as such on the menu. I had the sprouted tortilla chips with guacamole and salsa (amazing!) and blackened tempeh tacos (my mouth is watering!). Layers of flavor, perfectly seasoned, fresh, and tons of food. Great cocktails too.

Already dreaming about going back to Bluestem Bar. It is pricey but I went there with my husband for our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Everything that is veg on the menu is clearly labeled VEGAN even the wine and beers! It has such a great atmosphere, very fine dining feel for that special occasion.
I got some tasty vegan friendly wine and had the healing plate for my meal which was literally heaven on a plate, brown rice, spiced red bean, sautéed greens, slaw, blackened tempeh drizzled with a blood orange vinaigrette with a half of a baked sweet potato. It may have been on of the greatest things I have ever eaten. The menu seemed to be at least 1/3 vegan, so many things I want to go back and try.

This bar is connected to french meadow in minneapolis. The food is similar to french meadow with lots of clearly labeled vegan options. I had the tempeh tacos last time I was there. They were quite good. The service is great. Parking can be a bit of a pain.
