Great food - Edit
Great food and really cute town! They seemed like they were still figuring things out from a business standpoint but our waitress was really nice and helpful.

Good food, slow and unwelcoming service - Edit
The first time I came here I loved it. The place was welcoming, friendly service, and great food. However this last time they completely changed the place, it's not very welcoming at all, the staff seems to not want to be bothered with people orders. While the food was still delicious that's not enough to keep me coming back. I was so uncomfortable eating there I had to take my food to go.

Best Vegan Food in Town - Edit
4 of us enjoyed an elegant, casual vegetarian/vegan dinner here Friday evening. What great food, beautifully presented! The chef's creative juices are really flowing. Fast, friendly service in a low-key, peaceful environment.

A+ Vegan Eats - Edit
Did not expect to find such a great veggie joint on this business road trip. All the wraps and the Build-A-Bowls sounded delicious. I got the Harvest Moon Wrap with grilled tofu, brown rice burgers. Unbelievably good! Some menu options had cheese, but were customizable.

Great food, friendly cafe. - Edit
I ate here for the first time while visiting Lexington. Had the California wrap, which was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Seating is limited and it was very busy when I stopped by, but I was able to find a space and had a great lunch. The menu is not extensive, but there are many good choices. Will definitely come back.

FabulousvLunch - Edit
My husband & were visiting Natural Bridge (about 15 minutes away from the Blue Phoenix) when we mentioned to the tourism greater that we would be seeking a vegan lunch. What a great chance conversation, because she sent us to the Blue Phoenix in Lexington. This gem is across the street from the Washington & Lee University campus & is a cafe with a small market area, as well as some books & games that make it a nice hang-out spot.
Read moreEverything is vegetarian & most items are vegan or have a vegan option. My husband throughly enjoyed his Cali Wrap, as he loves the avocado which was a key ingredient. I thought my Ruebenesque sandwich was one of the all-time best sandwiches I've ever had - before or after becoming vegan! It was a very loose variation of a Reuben sandwich made with tasty grilled tofu, a red cabbage "sauerkraut" (tasty & not so very sour) & a wonderful dressing. No cheese. The sandwiches came with a pretty garnish of raw veggies that we also enjoyed. The only portion of our lunch we did not gobble down was the onion soup, which was a bit oily for our "no-oil" palettes. The Soup was incredibly tasty, however, so is oil is a part of your daily eating patterns, you'll love it as well.
We live about 5 hours away from Lexington, but the next time we're passing through this part of Virginia, we'll be back for sure!
Pros: Tasty food! Tons of vegan options.
Cons: None
