73 Woolwich New Rd, Woolwich, South East London, England, SE18 6ED

Serves meat, vegan options available. Family run Eritrean-Italian restaurant, harking back to Eritrea’s colonial history. The vegetarian dishes are supposed to be vegan suitable.

If I could give this 6 stars I would, but Happy Cow will only let me give it 4 because it's not an exclusively vegetarian restaurant. A while ago it was in London newspapers as being worthy of Michelin stars. Yotam Ottolenghi also asked the owner for her recipe!

The food is absolutely delicious. The dishes are like tapas style food, of a mixture of small stewed dishes that you eat with injera (Ethiopian bread, a lot like a cross between a crumpet and a pancake, it's also gluten free). My oftener and I are vegan and highly recommend the alicha and the silisi. Also has meat options for your non-veggie friends.

The owner is a lovely kind lady with a great success story!

Pros: Very cheap but high quality food, Gluten Free

Cons: Small restaurant so call ahead
