Decent food, great view

There are a few vegan and veganizable sandwiches here. I got the Thai wrap and my partner got a portobello sandwich. He originally ordered the portobello burger, but they informed him that it was a meat burger with a portobello, not a vegan burger. Both sandwiches left something to be desired but tbh this area is really tough for vegans and this place was better than the alternatives. I also appreciate that they omitted the coleslaw proactively as it was not vegan. Good vibes and great views, but food is only decent.

Wow. Go elsewhere.

Went for the crunchy Thai wrap and got my vegetarian niece a fresh tomato and pesto sandwich.
It’s tomato season. You would think it would be an amazing tomato. What she ordered was a pesto tomato sandwich, she got one slice of cardboard tomato per 1/2 of the sandwich, lettuce, a slice of what looks like American cheese, and a leaf of basil.
I ordered the crunchy Thai wrap. I first was given some monstrosity of meat. Then they brought me a wrap of lettuce and sprouts with a side of…Italian dressing?????
There are plenty of great sandwich shops in town. Don’t waste your money here.

Cons: Terrible food, Too expensive for what you get

Don’t Seem to Understand Veganism

While our family was super excited to find a nice spot out on the water with a view of the harbor, I was disappointed that despite being on happy cow, this restaurant didn’t seem to understand veganism. I had to ask multiple times if the hummus wrap was vegan (which was a pretty good wrap all things considered), yet once getting my meal after all that I discovered that they served it with coleslaw :/. Also, they used a lot of plastic, and had no recycling. But despite that, they have a quaint decor and a nice view so it’s a good place to stop if your not super hungry.

Pros: Few modifiable options

Cons: Served ‘vegan wrap’ w/ coleslaw, Not very filling, Lots of plastic

ok sandwiches

I was excited to try the sandwiches at Blue Moon after the manager was encouraging and accommodating of vegan requests when I inquired. Today I tried the portobello sandwich and asked for hummus instead of the cheese and pesto. There was going to be an upcharge for the swap, but then I think it wasn't added. The "kaiser roll" was much like a packaged hamburger bun. The sandwich came with potato chips, a pickle spear, and mayonnaise-based cole slaw. I was surprised about that after we had such conversation about keeping the meal vegan, as I thought the staff were more knowledgeable about vegan referring to no animal, dairy or egg products. I might try the hummus wrap or the thai veggie wrap another time, but I am not sure.

Pros: several vegan options, excellent outdoor dining area, friendly staff

Cons: vegan isn't clear to staff yet, lots of generic white bread and potato chips, not expensive
