Decent But Not What It Used To Be - Edit
Blue Dog has vegan cheese and offers the option to veganize a cheese steak. The current menu also lists a vegan pesto sandwich and a rotating daily hummus platter. While I wasn't blown away by any of these items, they were all decent which goes a long way in an area that lacks many high-quality vegan options.
Read moreHowever, as someone who went 5 or so years between visiting Blue Dog Pub, it was disheartening to see how much the quantity and quality of the vegan options has declined. They used to offer vegan flatbreads, chicken nuggets, soups, unique weekly specials, etc. It honestly used to be one of my favorite places to eat but, given it's current state, I likely won't return.
Pros: Offers Vegan Cheesesteaks, Carries Vegan Cheese
Cons: Significant Decline From Past , Food is Decent, Not Great

Great choices - Edit
Visited from Florida. Knowing it’s not a vegan establishments sets my expectations low for vegan items. But the chew steak was great. Texture was what i expected, flavor was a little lacking but I eat my cheesesteak with ketchup so it was fine. They had plenty of other options but were honest on telling me all the cheesesteak options use the same “meat” just season based on which option you order. Was happy to have a place by Carnivore husband could eat with me.

There are about 5 vegan options on the menu plus one special which is actually a decent amount for a pub/bar. Had the cheesesteak and it was much better than I anticipated. Flavor was great and texture was pretty good as well.

This place is great when you want something “unhealthy” like a vegan cheesesteak or impossible burger. Their fries are super crispy and delicious as well.
