Vegan and delicious - Edit

I stopped by before a nearby matinee and had an excellent strawberry smoothie. I went back for dinner. The mushroom melt was excellent, and I may have to go back for the vegan donair plate before I leave Halifax

Pros: Excellent food, Helpful staff, Convenient location

Cons: Not handicapped accessible

Disappointed - Edit

We went here for lunch on a weekday at 1:30 pm. When ready to order, we asked for dhal - response: "sorry, we are out of dhal". Soup? Sorry, we are out of soup. Ok, then one of the burgers? Sorry, we are out of burgers. Ok, then a sandwich with a side of potatoes? Sorry, we are out of potatoes. Effectively they did not have half of their menu items which were maybe 15 in total. But instead of marking that on their blackboard or even just letting us know while we were discussing what to order for 10 minutes right in front of the counter, we had to try our luck until we finally found sandwiches which were available. To top it off, when we paid they couldn't give us a receipt - "sorry, we are out of paper". They said they would bring us the receipt with our food but that did not happen. There is water for self-service - but every single glass we picked up was really dirty. The sandwiches we had were ok but not great. The place itself has a nice, relaxed atmosphere. But we were disappointed with everything else - a real pity because this seems to be the only all-vegan place in the area. Hopefully that was just a bad day and not their standard practice.

Pros: All-vegan menu, Central location, Relaxed atmosphere

Cons: Half of menu was not available, Dirty glasses, No windows to open/no AC, thus stuffy/hot

Very Good! - Edit

Comfortable restaurant with great art display and ambiance situated on the second floor. The menu is very good and the food is delicious, with enough varieties for a newly opened place. Great selection of chai and tea, but only real coffee is available at the moment. Some chicory or grain coffee might be available too in the future.
All in all, I recommend it. The staff is really friendly too and the is free wifi. Win.

Wonderful vegan breakfast place - Edit

This is a sweet new business with dried botanicals and tinctures on the main floor and a sweet little kitchen/cafe upstairs. We had breakfast there both days we visited Halifax this summer, and everything was fresh, delicious, affordable--and vegan!!! Highly recommend this little Halifax gem.

Pros: all vegan food, close to downtown, friendly and informed staff

My wife and I stopped through Halifax for a few days and ate here 3 times! Awesome energy, food and people.
So bummed to live so far away! The breakfast Putine is incredible. If you're in the area, you need to go here.

Yeah Jeff and crew...keep it up!

Vegan love - Edit

What a lovely space Blue Apples has. Such a nice vibe and with the incense burning also a lovely smell. They have a wall with shelves of herbs and alike, a fridge full of delicious vegan food and treats from enVie and In The Raw and also offer tea. Great spot to get some goodies to take out or eat in. The owners are very sweet and helpful. I highly recommend this new vegan spot!

Pros: Vegan food, Great atmosphere, Friendly staff
