Tasty and cheap

What more can you ask for. Tasty, cheap vegan food. It was a little oily, but that kind of comes with the territory. I'll definitely be back!

Cheap and Delicious

One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to. Food is A and cheap too! It’s a little hard to find, but go down the stairs and into the food hall to find it!

Pros: 100% vegan, Cheap, Wide variety

Cons: A little hard to find (downstairs in food hall)

Quick and Convenient Delicious Takeaway

Stumbled upon Blossoming Lotus whilst in Chinatown yesterday. Lots of delicious options. Service was fast. I enjoyed my Pad See Yew but it was a bit spicy. Hubby got the one option of noodles and fried soy strips, which were peppery and absolutely delicious. I usually don’t opt for the faux meats but really enjoyed these.

Pros: Large portions. Flavourful and Tasty.

Cons: Pad See Yew was oily and spicy.

great variety of cheap vegan food

Walking through Haymarket, I thought I'd give this place a try. It's far from fancy, the food was served on plastic plates for example, but the it was delicious and very affordable. I'd recommend this place if you're looking for cheap food in the area, but bring cash because they don't accept cards (as I discovered later than I should have).

Pros: great food, cheap

Cons: cash only

variety of vegan dishes

I’ve eaten here twice so far and plan to come back to try more things . The soy meats here are so flavorful.

I had the ready made dish where you can choose from 1,2, or 3 entrees plus a rice or noodle . Fantastic if you are really hungry because it’s already made . Looked fresh . When i went back later it was almost gone so that let me know it does sell out then more stuff is prepared . So it’s not just sitting .

The service was always friendly and kind .

Good fair prices.

The bbq buns are amazing if you like the steamed buns.

Also i orderedthe pad Thai with extra veggies , while it took longer because the line of people before it is was very tastey and a huge portion ! I definitely ate more than i should have but every bite was just as delicious as the first .

I recommend Blossoming Lotus to everyone , vegetarian, vegan and meat eaters .

Pros: delicious , good price , good serving sizes

Cons: food court style eating atmosphere

Beautiful Flavours

Was easy to find. 1 minute walk from my hotel. Busy little underground food court. The lady at Blossoming Lotus offered to make me a mixed veg stir fry, I asked her to add red curry sauce to it. It was AMAZING.

Pros: cooked fresh to order. huge serving.

Yum

I got the fried rice and bbq soy pork with chinese greens. Good health, liberation of animals and caring for the environment - that is msg of this place. When food comes from a good heart it can never be bad. I would stop by again next time I visit Sydney.

Blossoming Lotus

I came here today for lunch, settled on noodles and three choices had tempeh, eggplant, tofu and tomatoes. $10.
It got the Happy Cow sticker.
Located in basement with vegan signage.
Revisited today had a takeaway of mixed noodles with tempeh mushroom chilli and basil, pumpkin and tofu and crispy soy slices. $10 and 3 spring rolls $1 each. Was very tasty.

GREAT FOOD BUT...

Lovely food but I found out some options are not vegan !! The soy crisps are not vegan !!

The people are always nice and cook well but are selling false vegan foods :(

Pros: food, people, money

Cons: false vegan options

Is it possible for you to elaborate on the crispy soy strips thing, like how you found out about them not being vegan, etc.?

I don't think you're wrong. I am kind of hoping you are though because I'd been eating those things a lot and they are delicious.

Bustling Asian Food Court Food

By the time I actually found this place, I was starving ... which is nothing new. Blossoming Lotus is a far cry from fine dining, I found myself rubbing shoulders with Asian families and Asian-food loving Aussies, it was a bustling little food court with loads of interesting smells.
I selected a spicy tempeh dish and praised myself for my bravery on such an occasion (anyone who has suffered an upset tummy after dodgy tempeh will know what I mean here). For $8 I got a mountain of rice with some tempeh and capsicum - not the most fabulous food I have ever eaten, but vegan fare none the less. I left with a full tummy of veg food.

Pros: Cheap veg food

Cons: Difficult to find

So cheap you have to come back

We came here for a quick dinner and knew this would have to be a regular lunch stop on future visits to Sydney. I ordered three dishes from the bains maries with noodles and my companion ordered one dish with rice. The food was fine if not exceptional but was well worth the $10 and $7 we paid respectively. I enjoyed the bustly atmosphere of the small basement food court in an old mall. One word of advice: BYO water unless you are happy to buy some.

Pros: Cheap food, Busy atmosphere

Cons: No free water available

Yummo!

My partner and I travelled to Sydney for a day trip. After eating here for lunch, we then returned to have dinner before heading home. Great value and absolutely delicious! Will now be a regular every time we're I'm the city A

Pros: All vegan! There are options already cooked so you

Cons: Should be in Newcastle!

Tasty food, not much, decent for Sydney

This place is pretty hard to find. It is inside a food court, on the lowest floor, in the corner of the main food hall. You may need to peer into the place to get the person's attention. However, the staff person was really friendly, and the food was very tasty. It is about $7-11 for small-large size container.

Pros: Tasty, Reasonably priced for Sydney, In the city

Cons: Hard to find

delicious and fresh

I ordered the hot and spicy soup and lotus seed buns. The buns were sweet and the soup had a lot of kick!
The vegetables in the soup were so fresh and the meal was cheap.
Only lost a star because the customer service was forgettable and it was cash only with the nearest ATM a block away.

Pros: fresh ingredients, cheap, variety

Cons: poor customer service , cash only , busy food court location

Cheap and nice food

First of all, this branch is cheaper than the one in Newtown, and offers more non-buffet menu. I quite like their foods but some are quite oily, but if you ask them to use less oil(for non-buffet menu) it will be fine!

Pros: affordable

Cons: some food are oily

cheap & cheerful

I recommend ordering from the menu instead of getting a selection from the bain marie. Latter is quite oily, while the former is made fresh. Either way, you will get what I'd call classic vegan "Asian" meals at a good price. Not overly reliant on fake meats, there are vegetable options as well as tempeh and tofu. NB cash only.

Pros: great value, big and varied all-vegan menu, no MSG

Cons: can be oily

Great value

$10 for a bed of noodles or rice and your choice of 3 dishes - what great value for money. My choice was mock duck, tempeh and fried soy strips which were all very tasty.
Happy to find this place in an area that's full of food outlets but very little vegan.

Pros: Cheap, Great value

Simple yet tasty

Update; BL was closed for a while due to the Dixon House food court closure. Was there 26 Dec '16 and it has reopened!

Small, well signed vegan thai restaurant in a noisy food court. Great vibe, with lots of people getting lunch.

Many tasty options and great value. Lots of curries and soup style dishes. There are alacarte options or items that can be had with rice.

Had the red curry and an eggplant dish. Was awesome - will be back to try the others.

Pros: Inexpensive, Tasty, Lots of choices

Cons: Food court can be a bit noisy
