The food is absolutely way too delicious! I had the Cape Cod Cakes, Trumpet Mushroom Scallops and Raw Passion Fruit Mousse! Those scallops literally are the end of me. I need them in my life every day. I don't know how I'll be able to go on without them. I live in LA!! 😭

hip/high class restaurant - Edit
this place is a bit fancier price wise as well as food quality, consider massaging your taste buds here and pay accordingly! if you are looking for really nice dinner place you may book a table beforehand and enjoy your evening here, but just for quality food there is a lot cheaper and more easygoing places to choose from in NYC - maybe this is just me and when i grow up ill come back and rate this place heavenly! Happy birthday to me! - Edit
My family (non-vegans) let me pick the restaurant while we are visiting NYC. After looking at many sites and reviews I picked Blossom. So happy I did!
Read moreThey had fried pickles, salads, and sides. I had the lasagna. So yummy!!
We each had a different dessert to share. Favorites were the apple cobbler and chocolate ganache. They brought mine with a candle and the whole restaurant joined in as my daughters sang "Happy Birthday!"
I left very happy!
Pros: lasagna , chocolate ganache
Cons: no kids menu

Simply the best vegan restaurant in NYC - Edit
We've tried them all in NYC: Candle 79, Dirt Candy, Modern Love, Eats by Chloe, Champs Diner, V Note, etc. But year and after year, we come back to Blossom Restaurant. That's always where we have the best experience, the best food and the best memories. Check it out next time you are in NYC. Everything on the menu is fantastic.

Nice food - Edit
I came here as a birthday treat. We had an entree, main and dessert. The service was quick and the waiter was helpful.

Elegant restaurant with delicious food - Edit
Had lunch on a Tuesday and got the last table, so probably good to book in advance. The place serves delicious food - try the Cashew Cream Ravioli, it's amazing! The lasagna and quiona salad were also really good. A bit pricy but higly recommend this place.

One of the things I like to come to New York for - Edit
Blossom Vegan Restaurant (9th Avenue Chelsea) is among the best vegan restaurants in the world. I like traveling to big cities, and one of the things I like to do is try different vegan and vegetarian restaurants. I don't think any city in the world has the choice of quality vegan restaurants that New York City does (I don't mean falafel joints, fast food places, juice bars, and the like, or those health places that serve you a bowl of grain and beans or stewed vegetables - I mean creative attractive cooking). And in New York City, there are several excellent vegan restaurants, Blossom being among them. Given that I have to restrict the carbohydrates I eat, I am, nevertheless challenged to find what to select from the menu, but I ended up choosing two first courses, rather than a main, and enjoyed them very much, and I got to try different dishes that way. One of them was the raw zucchini rolatini, which was tasty and served beautifully. The service was excellent, as well.

Cons: Somewhat expensive, Would like more low carbohydrate choices

Pretty Good Lasagna - Edit
I finally got the chance to have lunch at what I was told was one of the top vegan restaurants in New York City.My waitress was very kind and helpful. After carefully looking at the menu, I decided on the lasagna. The portion size was perfect for me, as I was hungry. I thought it was good, but I have had better vegan lasagnas. I felt it was a bit too heavy and I think it would have been much better had they put tomato sauce all over the dish. I did enjoy the taste.I'll have to try the other dishes when I go back.

nice atmosphere, but the food..... - Edit
Nice atmosphere, good service, but the food is not at the level of the cost. We had a autumn tower with tempeh well balanced but the cauliflower au poivre (suggested by waiter because daily fresh) was totally untaste with cauliflower not cooked at all (I love not too cooked vegetables but when is not cuttable with a knife becomes umbarassing) and out of sense (heavy oiled) french fries; cost = $25! Last but not least berries with cream with berries more cooked (because not fresh) than cauliflower. it's lost opportunity. Pitty.

Fake meat... - Edit
I treated myself to a meal here last summer, it was a bit pricey for me but I did enjoy most of my meal, but again the menu is very heavy on the seitan/ soy side for me, I couldn't really find a dish without it and I don't really enjoy the meaty texture to my food so that was a tad disappointing. I really enjoyed the kale and mash potato, which were very heavy due to the truffle oil, but I enjoyed the slightly unhealthy treat and they most definitely delivered on the flavour side for me, but I didn't really touch the seitan part of the meal, gave it a try, but it's really not for me, really enjoyed the starter and dessert I had though! I'd recommend it for a evening out and the atmosphere was just right.. Especially for a date night! ☺

Vegan but not the healthiest - Edit
I wanted to love this place, as I'm always supportive of vegan restaurants. I'm a Happy Cow ambassador, so whenever I'm in a different city, I love trying different vegan/vegetarian places. Blossom has a nice atmosphere, though tables are a little tight. I follow a low fat, plant-based diet and was hoping that the chef might be able to make me something without oil. However, the server was very clear that all their main dishes have a lot of oil in them. They even put oil in their mashed potatoes! They steamed me some bland greens, and I ordered the potatoes anyway because I was really craving them, but they were so full of "truffle oil" that they were inedible (why ruin mashed potatoes by putting oil in them?) From the dishes I observed being served, this is the equivalent of a vegan greasy spoon diner - fatty and fried comfort foods made meatless. If you just want to have a meatless meal, it'll probably be fine for you. But if you're looking for something healthier, better go elsewhere. It's disappointing because one would hope that vegan/vegetarian restaurants would offer healthier, low fat options.

worth a night out - Edit
We had the appetizer plate which is suggested for 2 but in fact was enough for 4, plus a main each and a drink. With tip it came to about $50 a head so that's the range you are looking at for what is a good quality restaurant. I think some of the main course dishes could be a little more adventurous but frankly there is plenty here to keep just about anyone interested. Not the kind of place I'd eat at every week but certainly worth it for a night out.

Very soy and gluten based adorable place. - Edit
I was going for vegan, gluten free and soy free and my options were limited to curried lentils and sweet potato gnocchi. Both okay, but not calling me back. Berries with cream had an amazing subtle flavor mixed in. I'm giving it a four because the couple next to me really seemed to be enjoying all of their dishes and the restaurant is tiny and adorable.

great staff, average food - Edit
Waitress was fantastic, but the food was not as great. We ordered the eggplant parmigiana which was delicious however we had to send it back because it was ice cold in the middle. They made another but it was still cold in the middle :-; not sure why. Also ordered a sampler of four sides that were only average (curried sweet potato, truffle mashed potato, escarole and beans and garlic tofu.

great place for dinner - Edit
Dinner was delicious... We started with the zucchini rollatini which was to die for! I had the special of the night which was a lobster and trumpet mushroom risotto and my husband got the lasagna... Would def recommend the latter. To finish we had the lemon cheesecake which was nice and plenty to share.... Overall very good but a bit on the pricey side.

We all enjoyed that meal big time - Edit
It would be difficult to say anything negative about this eating experience. There were four of us and we all ordered something different and there were many choices. One of us has a nut allergy and it was good to see the nut free items marked. Despite the large bill, we left feeling it was all worth the great food adventure.

Pricey but great - Edit
We were on holiday and had so much great vegan food in NYC, but Blossom was the best. Yes it was pricey, but we had 3 courses and beer and port, and we just don't have that choice or quality locally. The food reminded me of French style cuisine. Everything vegan, everything tasted exceptional and I can't tell you how many years it's been since I had Tiramisu.

Hands Down One of My Favorite Vegan Restaurants - Edit
I have been vegan for eighteen years and have been to a lot of vegan and vegetarian restaurants, and I consider this to be one of the top five vegan in the country, and one of the top ten in the world.
Read moreHowever, I don't think every dish is a 10 out of 10. As with any restaurant, even the best ones, certain dishes will appeal to some and not others. My wife had the Feijoadinha With Smokey Tempeh, which was quite good, but for me, not nearly as good as the outstanding Port WIne Seitan dish. Having said that, Blossom's worst dishes, are much better than most restaurant's best.
Their salads are excellent: fresh, perfectly balanced, the desserts are excellent as well. All in all, one of the best vegan restaurants in the United States, and in the world.
Pros: Exquisite Food, Nice Ambience
