Deliciouse vegan Thai food

I really like this place because every dish I've tried so far has been delicious. Some dishes may be spicy.
The prices are also reasonable and the portions are quite large.
Maybe the service is not super professional, but the food makes up for it :P

Cheap Eats, lots of options

Don't come here expecting fine dining, but this is a perfect place if you are after cheap, quick food with lots of options. Great for takeaway or a quick feed. Dessert options as well, must try the Strudel's

Delicious eggplant tomato and mushroom dish

I've come here so many times now, but I always order the same thing, the eggplant tomato and mushroom dish. It's crispy, in a savoury, slightly tangy sauce.
Also tried the curry puff, and that was very good.
I should branch out to their other dishes, the made to order noodles dishes look good.

Pros: eggplant tomato mushroom dish, Quick service

Focus on the food, ignore the ambiance

Everything's vegan, according to the lady that took my order, so the listing probably needs an update. Great food, great price, super generous serving, a bit oily depending on what dish you choose. Definitely try the duck, a super smooth melt-in-your-mouth type of feeling, bursting with flavor. And the cherry strudels!!! Never had cherry strudels before, but probably better than most of the apple strudels I've had. They probably use sour cherry and vanilla bean cream as the filing, so not too sweet, not too sour, just right.

Pros: Great taste, good variety, Cheap, Great sweet options

Cons: Ambiance needs some work, Some dishes can be oily

Some average dishes, some delicious!

I ordered the 3 dishes with rice option for lunch and one for takeaway also. I also bought a box of the bbq steam buns.
I didn’t really enjoy the options I chose for the eat in lunch. I had the creamy tofu, pumpkin and eggplant/mushroom. I had to add chilli to make it less bland.

The take away however, was really good! I have massaman curry, vegan crispy duck and a different eggplant dish. The bbq bins were tasteless but a bit better when I warmed them.

The staff member wasn’t overly friendly or engaging. She didn’t smile or have much to say. The space itself was pretty nice.

I have to give it 3 stars for the overall experience, even thought the takeaway options were worth 4 stars. I’ll try a different place next time I’m in Newtown.

Pros: Some tasty dishes

Cons: Some average dishes, Not very friendly staff member. Just ok.

The choice is yours

It’s simple: you can pair rice/noodle with the option to choose 1/2/3 dishes. I went with 3 choices along with a Hufflepuff. Oh, curry puff. 14 1 AUD.

I went with noodles, gluten duck, eggplant tomato & mushroom, and red curry. The final product looks a bit messy, not exactly what I had imagined.

I like the texture of gluten duck. eggplant tomato & mushroom was a little cold and soggy along with curry. And curry don’t generally go well with noodles. So there you have it, I’m a bad example in answering multiple choices questions.

The curry puff tastes very nice, a little bit like samosa, but lighter, more airy, and more flaky.

It’s 14 bucks for a stuffing meal. Eating here is no brainer. To make a choice on the three dishes? Don’t be like me.

Simple and tasty

Blossoming Lotus is a small and simple eatery, (reminds me of being in South East Asia), but the food is delicious, its well priced and all vegan, including the dessert cabinet.

Save your pennies

I used to come here every time I was in Sydney before I got a bit too fancy. We came in for lunch because a place down the road was closed for the public holiday. I was reminded how good this place was: three dishes and rice for $13, plus a couple of (albeit chewy and not particularly fresh) spring rolls for a dollar each. All the buffet dishes were good, from the crispy soy bits to the red curry to the chili eggplant. I had to try the deep fried ice cream because it had been years. While I really enjoyed it, I realised that it was a refrozen deep fried scoop with a fairly thick batter. Delicious all the same. I should just save my money and eat here more often when I’m in Sydney.

Pros: Decent cheap food

Cons: Some foods don’t do well in bains maries

Simple yet delicious Asian food with plenty of choices.

Simple Asian kinda location with food at the counter to choose from. Many vegan options with mock meats to eat in or takeaway. 13$ for big plate of rice 3 options is a good deal!

Pros: Very tasty, Cheap

Cons: Not many vegan desserts

Following the reopening in NSW, I was able to sit down for a meal here on November 1, 2021. Proof of double vaccination is required to eat in.

It's just okay

It's cheap and good food but nothing spectacular, I must admit. I don't find the staff all that friendly.

Pros: good vegan food

Cons: unfriendly staff
