cute vegan upscale cafe - Edit
A cute small place in a cute small town. This is creative international plant based dining in an upscale cafe type setting. We have liked everything we have tried on the limited but diverse menu including drinks and desserts. Parking is plentiful on the street.

Good, but limited gluten free. Burger is deep fried! (gross) - Edit
The best vegan restaurant in the Bay Area since Sanctuary Bistro left for Charlotte, North Carolina. A bunch of stuff to try on the menu.

It’s all vegan and it’s all delicious. We can hear for brunch on Easter Sunday and it was perfect. We got a breakfast burrito, chilaquiles and their special, strawberry pancakes.

Superb Food, Ambiance, and Ingredients. - Edit
Loved every dish that we had at Blosson and Root! I'm so grateful this place exists because it seems like restaurants that rotate their menus to reflect seasonal produce are become more rare.
Read moreThe advantages this place has are parking, quality of food for price, and very attentive services. We had the mushroom steak salad with the bleu cheese and the lettuce wraps and were enamored by both.
The smore dessert was very rich in flavor as well.

Bay Area visit - Edit
We came to the Bay Area for the weekend.
Read moreOur friends Danielle & Michael suggested Blossom & Root Kitchen, which had just opened in the downtown area of Danville.
The outdoor dining on this Fall weather evening was perfect. We shared starters of “Crab” Cakes and the Pluots on Toast. I liked the cakes but the toast was better. Strongly recommend!
We each got separate entrees that we shared samples of. All were really excellent in flavor. We felt the smash burger was good but was lacking compared to the other dishes.
A dining experience worth the outing!
Pros: Ambience , Outdoor seating options , Our waitress (didn’t get her name)
Cons: None really

Patio, great food and drinks, what’s not to like? - Edit
We like coming to this restaurant often even though it’s a bit distant. It’s consistently good! They change their menu according to fresh produce. The burger is great. So is the funghi sandwich although it is a little indulgent 😋.

Love their inventive cocktails as well. Today I had the watermelon margarita. Not too sweet!
It’s really nice sitting on the front porch.

Can't recommend enough - Edit
This is some of the most delicious vegan food and a wonderful sit-down experience. The decor is gorgeous. The mushroom bisque (currently not on the menu) is one of the best soups I ever had; I was disappointed not to find it on the menu, but the corn chowder ended up being equally amazing, and the smash burger was so delicious. The food is just so flavorful and fresh.

Farm to... mouth! - Edit
I absolutely loved B&R, it's vibrant and beautiful inside and out. The vibrant creations are well thought out and bursting with flavor. This was my first visit but I plan to be back very soon. The staff are attentive and friendly and really make you feel welcome. The grilled Caesar was fresh and delicious, a unique version of a classic. I loved the potato and leek soup, the presentation was gorgeous. And I enjoyed the buffalo mushroom sandwich and it was curated with an amazing culmination of flavors that I couldn't get enough of. There are plenty more options that I look forward to trying in the near future. Highly recommend trying if you have not already. Great spot for lunch, brunch, date night, or any special occasion. Go immediately!

Healthy vegan food! - Edit
Ordered UberEats of this place, everything was delicious. The tofu was grilled really well, the vegan parmesan was great on the pasta. Highly recommend the corn chowder, it pairs really well with the green bean tempura which you can kind of use as healthier fries.

Fantastic meal - Edit
This was our third visit and it keeps improving. We shared the Grilled Sourdough with ‘blue cheese’ and vegan honey. Delicious, fresh, and my non-vegan husband said that the cheese was at least as good as the dairy Stilton he enjoys every Christmas. Husband ordered the Bucatini Puttanesca which he pronounced as very flavorful with the pasta cooked to perfection. I had the Smash Burger with the Brentwood Corn Chowder as my side. So yummy! This restaurant also has a small but nice wine selection, and now provides wine flights. For dessert we shared the Chocolate S’more Mousse, also a winner.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while and it did not disappoint. I had the mushroom steak salad and it was so delicious. Danville is a bit out of the way if you’re visiting San Francisco, but is definitely worth the trip. Can’t wait to eat here again.

I had the maitake mushroom salad and it was so good and so filling. The blue cheese dressing tasted like I remember blue cheese from pre-vegan days. My friend’s fauxjito was fabulous.

Outstanding food & service - Edit
The food was top notch and the ambiance was warm. Free street parking was not difficult. This would be a great place to bring non-vegans, they won’t miss their meat & dairy with these dishes. I have to mention their service was above and beyond expectations! #Veganuary

Great Location, Meh Food - Edit
I really wanted to love this place but it was just okay. I was super excited about trying this spot, since there aren’t any vegan restaurants in this area. We ordered a few appetizers, the Brussels sprouts, crab cakes and the fritters. The sprouts and the crab cakes were my favorite. We would pass on the fritters, if we were to go there again. I ordered the Tofu Bowl and it was okay. The tofu was fried perfectly and the sauce was good, the rice was either super old or undercooked because a lot of the grains were very hard.
Read moreUltimately the food okay but super overpriced for what we got. I had high expectations because of the prices, so we were disappointed.

Best Vegan Restaurant in Bay Area - Edit
Blossom and Root has delicious and innovative food, friendly service, a nice atmosphere and creative drinks. One of the best vegan restaurants I’ve been to anywhere in the world. Blossom and Root is not just someplace to go because it’s convenient, it’s worth a drive from anywhere in the Bay Area. Michelin is not the best at recognizing plant-based restaurants, but Blossom and Root definitely deserve a star.
